Everything about Being Legal – Fiesta 2.0
In the heart of Indore lies a literary fest that pushes the students with ignited minds to think,
perform, create and to challenge other ignited minds. Being Legal - Fiesta is the Literary Festival
organised by Department of Law, Prestige Institute of Management and Research, Indore. This
year, 19th November will witness the 2nd Chapter of this National Level Event bringing together
students from colleges all across the country with varied educational backgrounds.
The Department of Law, an autonomous body, aims at Globalising Legal Education. The
Department is approved by the Bar Council of India and is affiliated to the Devi Ahilya Vishwa
Vidyalaya, Indore. The Department is currently running the five year integrated programmes of
B.A.LL.B. (Hons.); B.B.A.LL.B. (Hons.); B.Com.LL.B. (Hons.), and the three year LL.B. (Hons.)
course. The Department also provides for Masters Degree in Law i.e., LL.M. (Business Law;
International Law and International Organisations.
Two times NAAC ‘A’ Grade Accredited Prestige Institute of Management and Research institute
was established in the year 1994. A well established premier Management Institute of Madhya
Pradesh, Prestige enjoys autonomous status as granted by the UGC twice in 2006 & 2012.
The Fiesta consists of the events of: Debate; Quiz; Extempore; Paper Presentation and Poster
Making.
The event aims to bring together students and to fetch out their curious selves to make them
compete with other such great soul. Like the last year, this year will also see the competition
igniting the humble Indian souls.

of November 2016 (Saturday). The festival will be held at the Department of Law Campus in

Being Legal - Fiesta 2.0 – GENERAL GUIDELINES
1. Being Legal - Fiesta 2.0 is the National Literary Event held every year at Department of Law,
Prestige Institution of Management and Research and welcomes all students from across the
nation to participate on 19th November, 2016.
2. The fest is open to students from all educational backgrounds (including under graduate
programmes and post graduate programmes).
3. Each individual can participate in three events maximum (as an individual or a team).
4. Lunch shall be provided to all the participants.
5. All teams and individual participants are required to report at registration desk at 8.30 am
and complete other formalities related to registration.
6. All the intimation of the students interested wishing to participate should be mailed/posted
to the university at the earliest and before 10th November 2016.
7. There are total prizes of worth Rs. 31,000/- that have been divided into different events to
be given to students in individual capacity or as a team.
8. All the students are required to be present at the registered event at the time of start, any
delay in reporting to the event will attract disqualification.
9. Pick up and drop facilities (to and from the accommodation; to and from the institute; to
and from the railway station, bus stand and airport) shall be provided to the non-resident
teams.

1. Every student who wishes to participate in any of the events will have to compulsorily
register for the respective event(s).
2. The non-residents (students from outside of Indore) will be required to send a Draft/
Cheque for the purpose of registration in the favour of ‘Department of Law, Indore’.
3. All the registration forms and DD/Cheques should reach the address ‘Department of Law,
Prestige Institute of Management and Research, Prestige Vihar, Scheme No. 74 – C.
Opposite to Life Care Hospital, Vijay Nagar, Indore – 452010 (M.P.)’ latest by 10th
November 2016 (Thursday).
4. The resident students of Indore can either send the abovementioned Draft/Cheque to the
institutes can register themselves at the registration desk at 8.30 am on 19th November 2016.
5. The registration fees for the event(s) is:-
a. Resident Students (of Indore) – Rs. 200/- + Rs. 100/- (in case student participates in
another event subject to the maximum participation of three events)
b. Non-Resident Students (outside Indore) – Rs. 1000/- + Rs. 100/- (in case student
participates in another event subject to the maximum participation of three events)
6. Accommodation for one night-one day shall be provided to all the Non-Resident students; in
case the student(s) wishes to take accommodation for another night(s), extra amount, as
asked by hostel/hotel manager, will be charged on per night basis in addition to the original
amount of Rs. 1000/-.

8. All students who register via DD/Cheque will receive intimation of registration through
email. They can later collect their receipt at the registration desk on the 19th of November.
Being Legal - Fiesta 2.0 – DEBATE
Topic: ‘Is Military Intervention the only solution with India for Pakistan’s terror Problem’
RULES
1. There will be two participants from one college: one for the motion and one against the
motion.
2. Each speaker will be given 4 minutes to speak. (3+1)
3. At the completion of three minutes, there will be warning bell.
4. Marks will be deducted if the speaker exceeds the time limit.
5. No abusive language shall be used.
6. No objection shall be entertained as the Decision of the Judges shall be final.
7. Participants are not allowed to bring any kind of hand written material (paper or chit) or
mobile to the stage or podium.
8. All the participants are required to carry their college IDs.
PRIZES
Winner (For the motion and against the motion): Rs. 4,000/- Cash Prize, trophy and certificate,
each.
1st Runner up (For the motion and against the motion): Rs. 2,500/- Cash Prize, trophy and
certificate, each.

Being Legal - Fiesta 2.0 - QUIZ
Theme: Current Affairs, Entertainment (Bollywood & Hollywood), Literature,
International Relations, Indian Culture.
RULES
1. There shall be one team from one college
2. Each team shall consist of two members
3. There shall be three rounds: (a) Preliminary Round; (b) Second Round & (b) Final
Round
4. The quiz shall be conducted in a span of 4 hours approximately.
5. Preliminary (Elimination) Round
a. This shall be an elimination round in the written form.
b. In case of a tie at the lowest position of selection, all the teams with that same score
shall enter the finals.
c. The questions will be in the form of – multiple choices; true or false; one word
answer; match the columns.
d. The teams will have to attempt 50 such questions in 30 minutes.
e. Teams qualifying this round shall proceed to the second round.
6. After the preliminary rounds, the copies shall be checked by the quizmasters and results will
be declared to resume the quiz for the Second Rounds.
7. Second Round
a. This round will be a question answer round with questions asked from each team
individually.
b. This round will be in three parts
i. Oral Round: Each team will be given a balance of 10 points at the start of
this round. 5 questions will be asked from each team – with negative
marking (+10 and -5) (15 seconds per question).
ii. Audio Visual Round: 5 questions for each team (15 seconds per question).
iii. Pictionary Round: One team member will pick words from the draw of lots
and will draw it at the white board for the other team member to
recognise it. Recognise as many words from the drawings possible, in 2
minutes at a stretch.
8. Final Round
a. Five teams scoring the highest will qualify to the finals.
b. In case of a tie at the lowest position of selection, all the teams with that same score
shall enter the finals.
c. This round will be in two parts-
i. Audio Visual Round: 5 questions per team with negative marking (15
seconds per question)
ii. Rapid Fire: Answer as many questions possible in 1 minute at a stretch.
9. No checked quiz sheets shall be made available to the teams or others
10. Teams not reaching the venue on time shall be disqualified from the respective round
onwards.
11. Any form of indiscipline or misconduct will attract disqualification of the team.
12. Further details regarding timing and place will be giving at the time of reception.
13. All participants should have Identity cards with them.

Theme: Ethical, Medical and Legal aspects of Surrogacy Laws in India
RULES
1. All the submissions must accompany an abstract of 250-300 words.
2. Article should be of 1500-2500 words excluding footnotes.
3. The title of the article should be appropriate and relevant to the theme mentioned.
4. The article shall be original and unpublished work.
5. The article should not be plagiarized, and free from grammatical, spelling and other errors.
6. Co-authorship is allowed subject to a maximum of two.
7. Full names of all the authors, college/institution, contact number, email id and the course
must be given on the front page of the article.
8. The author(s) may follow any uniform method for citation.
9. The body of the article shall be in Times New Roman, font size 12, 1.5 line spacing.
Footnotes should be in Times New Roman, size 10 single line spacing.
10. A margin of 2 centimeters shall be left on all sides of the article.
11. Page borders shall not be used.
12. Participants have to present their article, along with Power Point Presentation on 19th
November, 2016.

will be provided by the Department of Law.
6. The decisions of the judges shall be final and binding on all the participants
