GENERAL INFORMATION Welcome! For over 100 years now, Melbourne Polytechnic (Formerly NMIT) has remained at the forefront of vocational education in Victoria and we are excited to announce a new step towards the future – for you and for us. We were the first TAFE to be accredited to conduct and deliver specialist degree programs back in 2004 and have maintained integrity and pride throughout our rich history. Now, thanks to a funding boost of $19 million from the Victorian Government’s $200 million TAFE support fund, Melbourne Polytechnic will create another first, becoming Melbourne’s first Polytechnic. As Melbourne Polytechnic, we will help current and future students achieve their personal greatness. With progressive learning programs that combine book smarts with hands-on training, the new Melbourne Polytechnic will give you a full 360-degree education. And because our teachers and staff are experts in their field, you’ll not only learn your craft, you’ll learn how to master it. Throughout our proud history, we’ve had over a million students pass through our doors and we want you to be a part of our future and us a part of yours. So come and shoot for greatness with the new Melbourne Polytechnic. Whether that means becoming the best possible accountant, marketer, builder, designer or whatever it is you want to be, we’re proof that you’re never too old to change.
