Spitalkirche zum Heiligen Geist | Chiesa di Santo Spirito | Hospital church „Zum Heiligen Geist“ – Latsch/Laces

Die Kirche ist eine Stiftung des Heinrich von Annenberg. Der gotische Bau ist 1470 – 1520 zu einem einheitlichen Bau verschmolzen. Ein Juwel in der Kirche ist der Flügelaltar (1524) des schwäbischen Meisters Jörg Lederer.

La chiesa è una donazione di Heinrich von Annenberg. La costruzione gotica è stata unificata tra gli anni 1470 – 1520. Die particolare pregio il polittico (1524) dell’artista svevo Jörg Lederer.

The hospital curch was donated by Heinrich von Annenberg. The original gothic construction’s consolidation into one building dates back to 1470 – 1520. The church jewel is the Winged Altarpiece (1524), a precious work by Swabian master Jörg Lederer.

Nikolauskirche | Latsch-Laces | Chiesa di San Nicolò – Latsch/Laces

Im romanischen Stil aus dem 14. Jh. War früher im Besitz des Klosters von Latsch. An der Südfront Freskenreste (Kreuzigung, Hl. Nikolaus und Hl. Christophorus).

Stile romanico del XIV sec. Era di proprietà del convento di Laces. Sul lato sud si vedono degli affreschi (crocifissione, San Nicolò e San Christoforo).

Built in the Romanesque style in the 14th century, it was formerly owned by the monastery of Latsch. On the south side fresco remains (Crucifixion, St. Nicholas and St. Christopher).

Burgkapelle Sankt Stephan | La cappella di S. Stefano | The S. Stephan castle chapel - Morter

Die Burgkapelle gehört zu den sehenswertesten Kirchen Südtirols. Enthält Fresken aus dem 15. Jh. der lombardischen, niederländischen und bayrischen Schule.

La cappella del castello è sicuramente una delle chiese più interessanti dell’ Alto Adige. La cappella custodisce pre-ziosi affreschi del XV sec. della scuola lombarda, olandese e bavarese.

This castle chapel is one of the most noteworthy South Tyrol church buildings. It houses frescoes by the 15th Century Lombard, Dutch and Bavarian schools.

Fu nominata nel 1510. Da sempre meta di pellegrinaggio dei contadini.

Kapelle St. Maria in der Schmelz | Cappella S. Maria i.d.S. | Chapel „St. Maria i.d.S. – Martell/Martello

Die Kapelle wurde 1711 vom Grafen Hendl für seine Knappen erbaut, der Turm im Jahre 1856.

La cappella fu costruita nel 1711 dai Conti Hendl per i propri minatori. Il campanile risale a 1856.

The chapel was built in 1711 by Count Hendl for his pages, the tower in the year 1856.

Schloss Churburg | Castel Coira | Castle Churburg – Schluderns/Sluderno

Der Name der Burg begegnet uns das erste Mal in einer Urkunde, die Bischof Heinrich am 21. Februar 1259 in „Curberch“ ausstellt. Der Name und die Lage der Burg am Eingang ins Matscher Tal, in dem die Vögte von Matsch ihre Stammburg hatten, machen es zur Gewissheit, dass die Churburg jene Burg war, die dem Bischof kurz vorher „frey unverhinder-lich“ zu erbauen gestattet worden war.

Troviamo per la prima volta il nome del castello in un documento che il vescovo Enrico scrive il 21 febbraio 1259 nel „Curberch“. Il nome e la località del castello, posto all’entrata della valle di Mazia, dove i balivi avevano la propria sede di famiglia, ci danno la certezza che il Castel Coira è proprio quel castello che il vescovo poco prima aveva ricevuto il diritto di costruire „senza intralcio alcuno“.

The name of the castle comes to us for the first time in a document written by Bishop Heinrich on the 21st of February 1259 in the „Curberch“. The name and the location of the castle, set at the entrance to the Matsch valley, where the bailiffs had their family seat, give us the certainty that this is the castle that the bishop had recently received permission to „build without hindrance“.

Kloster Marienberg | Abbazia Marienberg | Monastery Marienberg – Burgeis/Burgisio

Die Benediktinerabtei Marienberg ist eine Stiftung der Edlen von Tarasp aus dem 12.Jh. Die Krypta von Marienberg wurde im Jahr 1160 vom sel. Adalgott, Bischof von Chur, geweiht und diente als erster Gottesdienstraum für das Chorgebet und die Feier der Heiligen Messe. Es ist dies eines der größten Zeugnisse romanischen Kunstschaff-ens im Alpenraum.

L’Abbazia dei Benedittini di Montemaria fu fondata dai nobili di Tarasp alla fine del XII sec. La cripta di Montemaria, consacrata nel 1160 dal beato Adalgott, vescovo di Coira, fu il primo ambiente sacro destinato alla preghiera corale e alla celebrazione della Messa. Il ciclo dipinto dell’età romanica rientra tra le più importanti testimonianze artistiche dell’arco alpino.

Marienberg is a foundation of the noble family of the Tarasp dating back to the 12th century. The Crypt of Marienberg was consecrated in the year 1160 by Adalgott, Bishop of Chur, and was part of the original monastery. They are one of the most important testimonies of Romanesque art in the Alps.

Schloss Juval | Castel Juval | Juval Castel – Kastelbell/Castelbello

Die Burganlage, auf einem prähistorischen Platz, wurde von Hugo von Montalban um 1278 erbaut. 1368 zählt sie zum Besitz der Herren von Starkenberg und 1540, nach öfteren Besitzwechsel, erwirbt sie die Familie Sinkmoser. Damit erreicht sie ihre Blütezeit. Sie fällt dann dem Geschlecht der Hendl zu, die sie 1813 an den Bauern Josef Blaas verkaufen. Die Burg verfällt. 1913 kauft sie der holländische Kolonialherr William Rowland und saniert sie vorbildlich. Seit 1983 ist sie der Wohnsitz von Reinhold Messner, der mehrere Kunstsammlungen dort untergebracht hat.

Costruito da Hugo von Montalban nel 1278, Castel Juval sorge su un sito preistorico Appartenne ai Signori di Starkenberg a partire dal 1368. Seguirono poi numerosi cambi di proprietà fino a che nel 1540 venne acquisito dalla famiglia Sinkmoser e raggiunse in quell’epoca il suo massimo splendore. La proprietà giunse poi al casato degli Hendl che nel 1813 lo vendettero al contadino Josef Blaas. Il castello cadde in rovina. Nel 1913 venne acquistato dall’olandese William Rowland che lo restaurò in modo esemplare. Dal 1983 è residenza privata di Reinhold Messner.

The castle was built on a prehistoric site by Hugo von Montalban around 1278. In 1368 it passed to the lords of Starkenberg and, following several more changes of ownership, was acquired by the Sinkmoser family in 1540. That was the heyday of Juval Castle. After that, title to the castle was transfered to the Hendl family, who sold it to a farmer by the name of Josef Blaas in 1813. The castle then fell into disrepair, before being purchased by a Dutch colonialist called William Rowland in 1913, who restored the building with great care. Since 1983 the castle has been the home of Reinhold Messner.

Eines der berühmtesten und meistbeschriebenen Denkmäler in Südtirol ist das St. Prokulus Kirchlein am Ortsrand von Naturns. Erbaut im 7. Jahrhundert in Gedenken an den heiligen Prokulus – Bischof von Verona und später als Viehpatron und Wasserheiliger verehrt – zählen die Fresken aus dieser Zeit (wir schreiben das vorkarolingische Zeitalter) zu den bedeutendsten Kunstschätzen in Mitteleuropa. Sehenswert sind die gotischen Fresken aus dem 14. Jh.

La chiesa di S. Procolo sul limitare di Naturno è il monumento più spesso decantato dell’Alto Adige. Costruita nel VII secolo in commemorazione di San Procolo, vescovo di Verona e poi acclamato patrono degli animali e protettore delle acque, i suoi affreschi dell’epoca (trattasi di quell apre-carolingia) sono fra i più importanti tesori artistici dell’Europa centrale. Degni di nota sono anche gli affreschi gotici del XIV secolo, riproducenti la storia della creazione.

St. Procolo, a delightful little church just outside Naturno, is the most famous and most written about monument in South Tyrol. It was built in the seventh century and dedicated to St. Procolo, Bishop of Verona and patron saint of cattle and irrigation supplies. Its pre-Carolingian frescos are considered to be the most significant art treasure in Middle Europewhile the fourteenth century Gothic frescos depicting the Creation are also much appraised.

Der völlig unterirdisch angelegte Museumsparcour macht 1.500 Jahre Geschichte der Menschen dieser Region lebendig. Vier Raum-Zeit Stationen führen in die Epochen Spätantike, Frühmittelalter, Gotik und Pestzeit ein. Gräber des Seuchenfried-hofes berichten zudem vom Schrecken der Pest. Im Museum sind weiter die abgenommenen Fresken der Kirche St. Prokulus zu sehen.

Il percorso completamente sotterran-eo, racconta 1.500 anni di storia della popolazione di questo territorio. Quattro installazioni mulitmedia pre-sentano, in modo suggestivo, le epoche del tardo antico, primo medio-evo, gotico e del periodo della peste. Tombe provenienti dal cimitero della peste fungono da testimoni del devastante effetto di questa terribile epidemia.

Historic, little St. Procolo church, just outside the village of Naturno, is well-know for its wonderful Medieval frescos and has even more to offer now that a museum about its history. The Procolo Museum, housed underground a mere short walk from the church itself, gives visitors a fascinating, multi-media trip back into the past.

Dall’edificio che ospita il museo e dall’areale all’aperto si vede la Val di Tisa con la cresta della montagna, dietro la quale, a 3.210 m, c’è il luogo del ritrovamento dell’Uomo venuto dal ghiaccio.

The ArcheoParc is designed to give visitors an idea of how people lived 5.000 years ago. There is a good view oft he Tisenjoch, the place where Ötzi was found, from just outside the building.

With more than 20.000 model railways, this exhibition is one of the largest private collections all over Europe. The landscape has been recreated on a scale of 1:87 and of course it is South Tyrol itself, in small proportions. Day and night effects as well as a 62 metre long course across our province impress visitors from all over.

Fourteen aquaria give the opportunity to dive into the nearby but unknown world of water and oft he local fish fauna. Interactive panels provide information on streams, peat bogs, an riparian forests.

Die Ausstellung im Haus ist dem Thema „Leben an der Grenze“ gewidmet. Sie bietet Einblicke in die Geologie des Ortlermassivs und in das Überleben von Pflanzen und Tieren unter den extrem klimatischen Bedingungen der Alpen.

L’esposizione è dedicata al tema „Vivere ai limiti“. Offre un affascinante sguardo sulla geologia del massiccio dell’Ortles e sulle strategie di adattamento di piante ed animali alle difficile condizioni climatiche.

The exhibit is dedicated to the theme „Living on the edge“. It offers a charming overview of the geology of the Ortles Massif and the adaptation strategies used by plants and animals to survive the difficultmountain climatic condition.
