Edexcel Educators Summit 2011

Educating for the 21st century

Welcome

W W W. E D E X C E L . C O M / E E S

Welcome to our inaugural Edexcel Educators Summit 2011. We are delighted that you are able to attend the first of what will be annual gatherings of Edexcel educators in the region, working together in delivering world quality education through the qualification and assessment packages offered by Pearson Edexcel. We are particularly pleased to welcome some of the students studying within Edexcel centres in the UAE.

Our theme for the conference is Educating for the 21st Century and the challenges we face in the region in delivering a stimulating and relevant learning experience for our learners. I am sure that you will agree that the contributions made by the students show how successfully many of the challenges are already being met.

This conference will celebrate academic success and explore ways in which we can continue to help our students maximize their educational potential. At the same time, it will look at ways in which we can enhance the student experience and enrich their learning.

But, of course, it is primarily a meeting of the Edexcel community; it is your opportunity to find out more about what Pearson Edexcel has to offer ; to share good practice with your colleagues and develop your understanding of how the whole assessment process works.

So, please question, challenge, contribute - or even applaud, as you see fit. If you leave our conference feeling you have a better understanding of the opportunities and processes involved in delivering Edexcel qualifications, we will consider our conference a success.

Enjoy our two days. I look forward to meeting you.

Best wishes,

Nigel Kelly Vice-President International Schools and Edexcel Pearson MEAC

2

Program

08.30 Registration for Edexcel Educators Summit (EES) and morning coffee

09.30 Welome note Mr. Nigel Kelly, VP International Schools & Edexcel, Pearson MEAC

09.45 Her Majestys Ambassador to say a few words H.E.
