    Weekly Friday Newsletter

    Term: 3 Week: 6

    5 September 2011

Teaching and Learning Review: Quality self review in schools is a valuable process, enabling staff to make

important decisions to improve student outcomes. This year we are emailing the 2011 Teaching and Learning Review

via Survey Monkey. We value parents feedback on the Teaching and Learning programmes at CTMS and encourage

all parents to respond. If parents require a hard copy, these are available from the office.

Visit by the Mexican Ambassador: Today CTMS students hosted the Mexican Ambassador. The children greeted

the ambassador and embassy staff with a traditional waiata, a spanish greeting and a Mexican song.

Pizza Lunch this Wednesday: Please see attached lunch order form. These need to be into school by 9am on

    Wednesday. No IOUs please!

Arrival time at school: A reminder that we ask students not to arrive at school before 8:30am, unless they are

supervised by an adult. Staff often have meetings or are preparing lessons prior to 8:30am and are unable to

supervise students.Variety Concert/Talent Quest: We are planning to hold the Talent Quest/Variety Show at the Cardinal McKeefry

hall on Thursday 6 October as this is a larger venue.

Mathletics: Many thanks for your patience with the issues some families are experiencing with Mathletics and

Spellodrome. Mathletics IT are working hard to rectify these problems.

Chess Classes: Our Monday Chess classes with Scott have proven to be very popular. We are delighted to be able

to continue these classes until the end of the term. We are investigating the option of After School Chess Classes.

Please complete the tear off slip if you are interested in your child participating.

Year 7&8 City Passports: The Year 7 & 8 students have been working on activities towards their City Passports.

A number of students have demonstrated they have met the City Passport achievement criteria and will receive

their passports. Congratulations to, Lily, Siobhan, Alex, Charlie, and Andrew. The other Yr 7 & 8 students continue

to work hard to meet the criteria and we look forward to them achieving their City Passports in the near future.Welcome: This week we welcome Kyle Owen (Connors brother) who starts in Kauri.
