NOTICES:Fundraising: Many thanks to everyone who supported our Sausage Sizzle at school this week and to Murray andthe children who did all the cooking. We raised $121.00.Pizza Community Night: Thank you to everyone who attended our Pizza Night on Thursday evening. It was greatto see the whole community enjoying a very relaxed evening together. Many thanks to Olga, Barbara and Christine(our current PTA members) for helping with the event. Hells Pizza Webb Street kindly gave us the pizzas at aheavily discounted price and also donated $1.00 to the school for each pizza sold - $73.00 fundraised.Learning Review: Many thanks to all our parents who have responded to our Learning Review and returned theirforms to the office so promptly. Please return these to the office by Friday 27 August.Interviews: We are planning our three way parent/teacher conferences on Monday 30 August and Tuesday 31August. This will be an opportunity for parents to find out more about their childs progress and receive moreinformation on their childs achievement in relation to National Standards. Please return your interview slips onMonday. Preferred times will be given to those parents who return their forms on time!Farewell: This week we sadly had to farewell Xavier, Tiernan, Jody and Dean who are moving to live in Auckland.We would like to thank Jody for all the work she has done on the PTA and for her contribution to our communityover the past four years.New Zealand Symphony Orchestra Concert: As you are probably aware, all the children have been involved inplaying instruments this term. This has been an extremely popular learning experience! As part of this topic we will

be taking the whole school to a performance by the NZSO at Te Papa on Wednesday 25 August, leaving school at9:15am.Swimming: This Thursday afternoon the senior group will be starting their swimming lessons at Sportswide Gym.They will need to bring togs, towel, goggles, swimming cap and a plastic carry bag.Passport to the City: Congratulations to Billy, Mahdhi and Grace who have completed their Year 7 and 8 CityPassports. To gain their passports they completed all their tasks to demonstrate their ability to safely andeffectively use the city environment and resources. They will receive their passport at assembly on Thursday.
