Evaluation of ROUGH CUT 2 of Dissection

What were the key differences from ROUGH CUT 1?

• One of the biggest difference is that we added in sound.

• We also edited the operating room shots and changed the colour balance. This made the cross-cutting from the 2 settings more clear. We know this because in our feedback, the majority of the people thought this was our major improvement.

What were the key differences from ROUGH CUT 1?

• We also changed some of the order of the shots. This was because we had to make it as clear as possible on what we were trying to say in our sequence. In the rough cut 1, the understanding of the story was a little unclear so we gathered as a group and tried to find the best order of shots we can. This made it clear to the audience that there is cross cutting throughout the sequence.

Strengths of Rough cut 2:• - We didn't delete or add any shots

from rough cut 1.• - The cross cutting is much clearer

now.• - Use of sound and sound

combination with the shots were really effective.

• - The use of red for the operating scenes really matched with the blood and it added tension and fear to the film.

Strengths of Rough cut 2:

Rough cut 1

Rough cut 2

Very ordinary and not enough for a horror title-sequence.

Much more fearful and adds mood. Blood and red has well combined and the light from the window adds more consternation and produces a very effective scene.

Weaknesses of Rough Cut 2:

• - We didn't add sound effects to our title sequence. These sound effects should of been added to the tap water, clocks and the paper that was crumpled.

• - Some of the normal scenes should of been edited (colour balance) too, because it was too bright for the ‘red’ scenes.

• We should have added in our idents and credits(at least for some of the scenes to get feedback about the font and size).

Our next targets: Improvements

• - Add the idents• - Add all of the credits• - Change the colour balance for the

‘normal scenes.’• - Add sound effects to the clock, tap,

paper and towel paper.• - AND FINISH OUR TILE

SEQUENCE ON TIME!
