‘Everybody’ by SHINee and my own music video production comparison

Compare your music video to another music video within the

same genre which is quite similar

SIMILARITY- THEY BOTH CUT TO THE BEAT

Choreography is in synch with the beat of the music for both music

videos. Both have close up shots

and long shots- close up shots to show who

is singing and long shots for choreography.

SIMILARITY- BOTH HAVE CONTEMPORARY BACKGROUNDS/ SETS

Both music videos at least have some contemporary/futuristic look even if star

personas/images are different. This is conveyed with the background sets of each music video to make the music videos look ‘cool’ and ‘trendy’.

DIFFERENCE- THE STAR PERSONAS ARE VERY DIFFERENT

My artist has a futuristic star

persona who wears silvery/futuristic

costumes whereas, SHINee wear

military uniforms in their music video

‘Everybody’ to relate to what Nazi military officers wore during the World War so in

terms of dress sense, it is

significantly different.

DIFFERENCE- DIFFERENT SUB GENRES

While both music videos have very

significant electronic beats, SHINee’s music video has a far

more dub step feel to its sound

whereas, my music video is more

electronic dance pop.
