Work package year 1 outputs
• Work description for year 1:
The first year of WP4 has been focused on preparing for the intensive
development of the second year. As such it has been dominated by
research and design activities: user experience research and design,
technical research and design, and research of non-Europeana platforms
(Spotify, SoundCloud) for distribution and increased audience reach.

Work package year 1 review
• Lessons learned from year 1:o UX research and design would be better done in a more intense
fashion over a shorter period of calendar time
o An early and more detailed inventory of planned content, its nature
(genres, resource types), copyright status and technical quality
would have been very useful in both Channels UX research and in
evaluating the feasibility of batch uploads to Spotify and
SoundCloud
o Spotify has very tough requirements on metadata, audio file
formats and copyright. Higher than what is required by
Sounds/Europeana.
