CEI annual service training seminars

Established in 1969, CEI Enterprises designs and builds a broad variety of equipment used in the infrastructure and energy industries. These products include production equipment for modified asphalt binders, asphalt emulsions, hot mix asphalt, and concrete.

Since its inception, CEI has built a legacy of innovation and quality — manufacturing durable, reliable, and technologically advanced products. CEI backs its products with worldwide parts and service support, as well as annual, hands-on training.

CEI’s spacious manufacturing facility in Albuquerque, NM includes all fabrication, engineering, painting, electrical, testing and R&D aspects of CEI equipment production. Our UL-rated electrical panel shop and on-site training facility are also located here. Our location in Albuquerque places us at a convenient center for product shipment throughout North America and beyond.

CEI asphalt-rubber blending plants blend crumb rubber with liquid asphalt to produce a high-performance binder. Our systems are the most technologically advanced on the market, producing a consistently high-quality product at the highest continuous production rate.

Asphalt-Rubber Systems Emulsion & SBS Plants

Nomad™ Asphalt Plants

CEI’s fully-automated emulsion blending plants can produce both anionic and cationic emulsions at a production rate of up to 80 tph.

Our SBS systems mix finely-sheared SBS polymer with liquid asphalt to produce polymer-modified asphalt binder.

Known worldwide for decades, the Nomad asphalt plant is one of the most highly portable plants available. Production capacities range from 80 to 200 tons per hr.

Nomad plants are available in both domestic and export variations, with multiple configurations and options to choose from, including integral or stand-alone aggregate bins, baghouse or wet scrubber, surge hopper, bin or silos, and RAP capacity. An air-conditioned control house & portable asphalt tank complete this turn-key asphalt facility.

Concrete Equipment

The Fusion concrete batch plant combines precision aggregate blending with traditional cement metering to create a production facility that lets you use less cement to make better, more consistent concrete. Benefits include less segregation, fewer voids, cleaner, quieter operation, less maintenance and reduced transit time.

Ecoheat direct contact water heaters heat water on-demand, up to 185°F, for use in cold-weather concrete production. Flow rates up to 1,200 gpm.

Economically Wise. Because it is an instantaneous heater, you could see your gas bill drop immediately. It only burns the amount of fuel it needs to give you only the amount of hot water you need — when you need it.

Ecologically Responsible. Due to the heater’s incredibly high 99% efficiency, your operation can become more energy efficient and ecologically progressive by lowering emissions.

CEI direct-fired water tanks provide the ideal solution for heating water to make concrete in cold weather.

These tanks are designed specifically for the production of concrete. Tank capacities range from 2,000 to 30,000 gallons. They are available in either a deluxe or economy version.

Numerous options are available.

In addition to our concrete production equipment, CEI also offers chillers made by American Geothermal.

American Geothermal’s Chillbatch air cooled chiller systems are available in 5 through 120 nominal ton capacities. The system features 2 independent refrigeration circuits to provide continuous operation even if one circuit should fail.

Cement SilosCEI Enterprises offers cement silos in multiple sizes and configurations, including single and split compartment, stationary, portable, gravity fed, and self-erecting intra truss silos with feed augers and collecting hoppers. CEI offers both vertical and horizontal tanks for storage and heating of liquid asphalt cement. Numerous options are available, including mixers for polymer-modified asphalts and emissions control equipment. Nominal capacities range from 5,000 to 40,000 gallons.

Portable asphalt tanks are available in single or multiple-compartment configurations. Options include mixers, hot oil heaters, and vent condensers for reduced emissions. Nominal capacities range from 10,000 to 35,000 gallons.

Direct-fired tanks combine a fully-insulated horizontal storage tank with a fire-tube and burner. Nominal storage capacities range from 10,000 to 35,000 gallons.

CEI offers direct-fired tanks for both liquid asphalt storage and mix water heating for concrete plants.

Liquid additive systems inject measured amounts of liquid additives such as anti-strip into asphalt cement prior to the asphalt mixing process.

CEI electrically-heated storage tanks can be used for a variety of liquid materials, including asphalt cement. Tanks come in both horizontal and vertical configurations. Capacities range from 5,000 to 40,000 gallons.

Jacketed Firebox Hot Oil Heaters

Helical Coil Heaters

Jacketed firebox hot oil heaters heat and circulate heat transfer oil for heating asphalt tanks, fuel preheaters, and other asphalt plant equipment.

Available in outputs from 1.2 to 10 million Btu/hour. Fully-packaged with circulating pump and controls. Numerous options are available.

Helical coil heaters utilize a helical coil within an insulated heater body. Heat transfer oil flows through the coil, gaining heat from a burner flame. Heated oil then transfers heat to asphalt tanks, heavy fuel preheaters, and other equipment.

Fully-packaged with circulating pump, control panel and more. Horizontal and vertical models are available in 2-pass or 3-pass designs.

Terminal Heating Systems

Asphalt Booster Heaters

Hot oil heating systems for asphalt terminals (right) typically include two hot oil heaters that can be used independently or in tandem to heat millions of gallons of liquid asphalt. A larger, stand-alone expansion tank accommodates the increased volume of heat transfer oil.

Systems are tailored to the current and projected heating needs of your terminal. Single-heater systems are also available.

A typical booster heater is a vertical, helical coil design. Liquid asphalt flows through the coil, and is heated via a burner flame.

CEI provides both fired and exchanger-type booster heaters.

Asphalt Barrel MeltersOpened barrels of solidified asphalt are fed into the barrel melter at one end. As they pass through to the other end, heat from coils in the bottom of the tank melts the solidified asphalt. Liquefied asphalt then drops into the heated storage area below, and the empty barrel is extracted.

Calibration Tanks

CEI asphalt metering systems include twin-pump meters and mass-flow meters. Both systems are highly-accurate and meter asphalt as it flows from the AC tank to the mixing equipment.

Calibration tanks are used to calibrate the liquid asphalt metering systems used at drum mix asphalt plants. They save considerable time and money. CEI offers calibration tanks in both horizontal and vertical models.

CEI heavy fuel preheaters are made to heat heavy fuel as it flows to a burner. Typical applications include burners of aggregate dryers used at hot mix asphalt plants. Preheating the fuel lowers its viscosity so that it can be properly atomized by the burner.

Vent condensers capture fumes from asphalt storage tanks, re-liquefy them, and return the liquid asphalt to the tank. This reduces plant emissions, keeping your plant within state and local specs. Available options include our extreme-duty vent condensers, with active cooling systems to further reduce emissions.

Protect pumps & other equipment from debris in liquids. They significantly increase the life of your hot oil heater and pumps. Single & duplex filter systems available with either 2” or 3” flanges.

These tanks feature compartments specifically designed to store both fuel oil and liquid asphalt. Typically in portable configurations, numerous options are available, including on-board heaters, calibration tanks and AC meters (as shown).

CEI fuel tanks are designed to store No. 2 fuel oil, and Nos. 4, 5 or 6 heavy fuel oil. Capacities range from 350 gallons to 35,000 gallons. We offer a wide variety of configurations, including portable, vertical, or horizontal tanks. Double-wall tanks and integral fuel preheaters are among numerous available options.
