Meeting Etiquette• Participants automatically enter the webinar in “listen only” mode. The

organizer will then unmute all participants. We ask if you are not speaking to manually mute yourself

• NOTE: VoIP participants have the ability to “Mute” themselves by clicking on the green microphone. However, if you would like to speak, only you can unmute yourself.

• If you are dialing in using a telephone and NOT using the VoIP you MUST dial the audio pin in order for the organizer to unmute you – if you do not use the audio pin and just push # when prompted the Organizer cannot unmute you

Mapping of UKCHIP Standards of Competence to UK Requirements for Certification of Individuals

8

• Jean Roberts has mapped the UK Council for Health Informatics Professions (UKCHIP) standards of competence to the UK requirements for certification of individuals.– Common Overlap between the UK and EU-US Work• Many of the UK Generic Professional Standards do not

appear at this (intermediate) level but might be described in the basic levels (or not)• Some of the UK Generic Informatics competences are not

addressed explicitly, but it is argued may be embedded in more specific elements by implication• A number of areas where the US focus on detail are only

covered in our standards under the remit of 'in your own area of work

Proof of Concept: Sample Role/Curricula Mapping

14

• Rachelle Blake will introduce a proof of concept that maps some preliminary roles (as suggested by this group) to both formal and informal HIT training

• We would like the community to take a look at this spreadsheet and provide feedback to any member of the support team

*Roadmap: “Create a needs analysis that looks at what current curricula and training exist, identify the gaps, and develop solutions to bridge the gap (e.g. plan to develop new curricula)”

Next Steps

15

• Join us next Thursday, August 14th, 2014– Continue to refine the “sample role/curricula mapping”

spreadsheet– Continue to integrate areas of EU/US/UK overlap into our

current competencies – Have an update on the approval process for the Direct Patient

Care Bucket that has been complete
