WHAT IS LEGAL BLINDNESS?? Visual acuity of 20/200 or

worse.  the peripheral field is

contracted to an extent that the widest diameter of the visual field subtends an angular distance less than 20 degrees in the better eye.

Page 4: esight glasses

LEGAL BLINDNESS CAUSED BY EACH ARE AS FOLLOWS:

•Macular degeneration (16.8%)

•Glaucoma (11.5%)

•Diabetic retinopathy (10.1%)

•Cataract (9.8%)

•Optic nerve atrophy (4.3%)

•All other/unknown (47.5%)

WORLDWIDE PREVALENCE OF VISION IMPAIRMENT There are an estimated 180 million persons

worldwide who are visually impaired. Of these, between 40 and 45 million persons

are blind. estimated that at least 7 million people in

world become blind each year, with over 70% having vision restored with treatment.

Among persons who are legally blind worldwide: 58% are age 60+ 34% are age 45-59 8% are age 15-44 4% are age 14 or under

SURVEYS A person is “functionally blind," as defined by

the World Health Organization,.Blindness defined for international health purposes is when an individual cannot count fingers at 10 feet.

E-SIGHT TECHNOLOGY eSight enhance the quality of an image reaching the eye, delivering more data and triggering an increased reaction from the cells in the eye.

With more high quality data being passed from the eye to the brain, eSight helps people see more of the world.

E-SIGHT GLASSES

eSight are wearable electronic glasses that allow the legally blind to actually see.eSight can autofocus on short, medium and long-range objects.eSight's many unique features—such as 14-times zoom, image contrast enhancement, reverse color displayeSight does not work for people who are totally or profoundly blind.

Headset: The Headset, worn mounted on carrier frames just above or in front of the eyes, houses a high-definition camera, OLED screens.

Processing Unit: eSight users’ carry a small, light-weight processing unit that adjusts every pixel of the video in real-time. The Processing Unit also houses the battery which powers eSight.

Carrier: Finally, to support complete and unimpeded mobility, eSight offers multiple carrying options that allow eSight to be used hands-free.

Carrier Frames: The Frames support the weight of the eSight Headset and distribute it around the wearer’s head to ensure comfort.

HOW DOES ESIGHT WORK? eSight uses a sophisticated high-speed

camera, video processing software, cpu and the highest quality video OLED screens to project a real-time image. awakens the remaining functional neurons.

The eyewear then enhances the images which causes the remaining receptors to send an improved signal to the brain.

The controller even allows the user to freeze a frame, for reading or to save the picture onto an integrated micro disk.

CAN ESIGHT BE WORN BY THE LEGALLY BLIND WHILE THEY ARE MOBILE?

eSight is also totally mobile, which means users can experience all kinds of activities.

Going for walks Participating in sports Computers and other work-related tools Reading signs and other navigational markers Watching outdoor events Use of public transportation, including air

travel

DOES ESIGHT HAVE ANY COMPETITORS?No other vision aid offers the same gift-of-sight as

eSight.

white canes, magnifying glasses, CCTVs and electronic text-to-speech reading aids. None of these devices deliver the actual sight eSight does

Eye dogs - cost of approximately twice that of eSight

surgical methods, estimated to cost approximately $150,000 per operation.

WHAT FEATURES WILL BE ADDED TO ESIGHT IN THE FUTURE? eSight will become smaller more feature-rich, and less expensive as the years go by. eSight currently does not charge for software

upgrades. New features are currently offered free of

charge to existing eSight users

Page 15: esight glasses

ADVANTAGES Magnification from 1.5x to 14x Easy to handle Auto-focus enables the wearer to quickly change their

view Separate contrast and brightness features accommodate

different lighting Freeze capability allows the wearer to capture a still shot

of an image Six custom color modes help the wearer make reading

easier Software is easily updated via computer to keep eSight

current Customized with the wearers own prescription lenses Unique tilt feature enables the wearer to alternate

between walking and stationary activities like reading or watching TV

Page 16: esight glasses

DISDAVANTAGES Available in single size Expensive battery backup eSight cannot fully restore sight

Page 17: esight glasses

CONCLUSION Unlike other low-vision aids, eSight is designed to

enable the freedom, self-efficacy, and confidence only possible by enabling seamless vision, regardless of circumstance and setting. eSight is worn hands-free and, for many people, all day, allowing people with low-vision to accomplish the tasks they choose, without barriers of access.
