HEALTH BENEFITS OF SPROUTING

Sunflower Seed Sprouts or Sunflower Seed Greens (Can only be grown if unhulled)

Sprouts are super nutritious because they contain all the elements a plant needs for life and growth. The endosperm of the seed is the storehouse of carbohydrates, protein, and oil. When the seed germinates, these become predigested amino acids and natural sugars upon which the plant embryo feeds as it grows to maturity. When used as food, the life force is released and supplies the energy which is capable of generating healthy cells in the body and supplying us with new vigor and life. Used as an adjunct to the diet, sprouts can retard the aging process, since they contain ample amounts of male and female hormones, available in their most assimilable form. Processed foods often lack the vitamins and minerals necessary to a balanced diet. Research shows that, in sprouts, one finds one of the foods highest in vitamin and mineral content. Sprouts should, therefore, occupy a prominent place in the diet. Among their other virtues is the fact that the seeds are low in cost, can be stored indefinitely, and are easy to grow, and, when sprouted, increase their nutritional value

many times.

Sprouts are best when eaten RAW, because cooking always destroys a large part of the nutritional content. The entire sprout is eaten, including leaves and roots. Sprouts are good eaten by themselves but can also be added to salads, sandwiches, or soups. They can also be blended for baby food, sauces, and dressings. They can be stored in the refrigerator in a jar or plastic bag for up to two weeks. It is preferable, however, to make small amounts at frequent intervals since seeds and sprouts tend to become

Page 4: erawticfoodsebook

rancid when held for too long a time. Since harmful chemicals are created when foods

become rancid, every effort should be made to provide fresh foods in the diet.

HOW TO: SPROUTED BUCKWHEAT

1. My absolute favorite seed to sprout is Buckwheat

Some profound benefits of eating buckwheat are listed below:

• Buckwheat helps lower glucose levels and is beneficial for managing diabetes.

• Buckwheat contains rutin, a medicinal chemical that strengthens capillary walls, reduces hemorrhaging in people with high blood pressure, prevents heart attack

and increases microcirculation in people with chronic venous insufficiency.

• It contains 75% complex carbohydrates, which satisfy our appetite and fuel our cells. It is also good for people who struggle with wheat allergies and gluten

intolerance.

• Owing to the quantity of magnesium contained in buckwheat, it has a relaxing effect over blood vessels, helps improve circulation, decreases blood pressure

and reduces cholesterol.

• As it contains plenty of vitamins with B complex, buckwheat is recommended in case of liver disorders and illnesses where it is advisable to restrict the quantity

of sugary substances consumed each day.

I normally take 1 cup of buckwheat and place it in a mason jar, filling the jar to the top with warm water. You can fit cheeses cloth around the top of the jar and then place a

Page 5: erawticfoodsebook

rubber band around it for later when it’s time to drain or just use a sprouting lid. Allow the buckwheat to soak for 15 minutes (if it soaks or is allowed to sprout too long it can cause fermentation). After soaking, drain, rinse thoroughly, and let the seeds stand without water for about 2 to 4 hours in an upside down angled position. Place

something underneath to catch the exiting water. This will aid in the proper drainage.

Mason Jar w/Cheese Cloth and Rubberband

Sprouting Lid

Page 6: erawticfoodsebook

Draining Position

Continue to rinse and drain thoroughly every 2-4 hours to prevent rotting. This process takes 24 hours total and within that time, if done correctly, you should start to see little tails, about 1/8 of an inch. They're now ready for drying! One cup may not seem like a lot but the seeds will expand from the original amount. So one cup in the end will yield

you two cups.

When ready, rinse seeds thoroughly and dry in dehydrator if you have one or in your oven on the lowest setting; make sure not to go above (105 - 120 degrees). Store your buckwheat in the refrigerator, in a covered dish or aother suitable container until ready

to use.

Note: After the initial soaking of your buckwheat, when rinsing for the first time and at least a few times after, you will encounter what I call "Buckwheat Snot". lol ... There's no offensive smell or anything for you to worry about, but this slimy film should be thoroughly removed or the buckwheat will go rotten. I suggest running water into jar for a bit (2 minutes). This is an easy way to remove alot of the film at once. Re-rinse with filtered water aferwards. The slime should go away after a few good rinses.

WHY YOU SHOULD SOAK YOUR NUTS AND SEEDS

The main reason soaking nuts and seeds is so important is because they contain enzyme inhibitors.

The purpose of these enzyme inhibitors is to protect the nut or seed until it has what it needs for growing.

Nature allows the inhibitors and toxic substances to be easily removed when the conditions (enough rain and sun) are met.

In nature, when it rains the nut/seed gets enough moisture so it can germinate and produce a plant. The plant then continues to grow with the sunlight.

By soaking nuts and seeds, you release these toxic enzyme inhibitors AND increase the life and vitality contained within them!

THE BENEFITS OF SOAKING NUTS AND SEEDS

• Enzyme inhibitors get neutralized.

• The amount of vitamins your body can absorb increases.

• Gluten breaks down so digestion is much easier.

• Phytic acid, which inhibits the absorption of vital minerals, is drastically reduced

Note: Soaking times vary with the nut. Generally the more dense the nut, the longer the soaking time. Ideally, this should be done at room temperature.

Page 8: erawticfoodsebook

HOW LONG SHOULD YOU SOAK YOUR NUTS AND SEEDS? The soaking time differs for different nuts and seeds. Below I have listed the nuts and seeds we’re using for this book ☺. All should be soaked at room temp.

• Almonds 1 C 12hours

• White Sesame Seeds 1 C 4hours

• Brown Sesame Seeds 1 C 8hours

• Buckwheat 1 C 15 minutes

PROPER SEED and NUT PREP

It's recommended that after soaking nuts and seeds you should dry them in your

dehydrator for 12-20 hours to make sure they're dried to the core. This prevents the

growth of harmful microbes, helps keep them fresher longer and makes your dishes

taste better.

If you don't have a dehydrator then you can dry them in the sun or use your oven on

the lowest temperature (no higher than 105 -120 degrees) with the door slightly

opened. This will ensure that the nuts/seeds will not reach a core temprature that will

destroy the precious nutrients contained within.

Now this is just a recommendation as I myself have soaked nuts and seeds without

ever drying them, but I also use them right away. If you plan to refrigerate having used

wet seeds or nuts, consume within 3 days max.

KEEP TIME

For nuts and seeds that have been soaked but not dried the suggested time is 3 days

max. If you keep them any longer than that you run the risk of your seeds and nuts

becoming a breeding ground for harmful microbes.

When your nuts and seeds are completely dry they keep for a much longer time. Up to

one month, but keep in mind this is just the nut/seed as is. When used in any recipe,

the keep time drops drastically (3 days maximum) for your safety and nutritional intake.

eRawtica for Your Mouth:

The Beauty of Good Mood Food

Welcome to the yummy section of the book :-)!

Now I don't know about you, but for me, eating great tasting, supremely healthy morsels of heavenly divine, knowing that it's healing and uplifting my body/mind sends me into an ecstatic meditative trance! I know ... I LOVE TO EAT. Honestly I don't like people trying to talk to me when I'm eating. When you have to listen to someone, you have to pay attention; paying-attention-chemicals and eating chemicals are not the same!! Makes my food taste different and I don't play that!!

So get ready to make some Frighteningly Addictive eRawtic Coregasms (Raw Vegan

Milks), Truly Pleasing Pies, Seductive Smoothies, Delectable Salads, Scrumptious Cereal,

Healing Juices, Savory Beautifying Pates and some other goodies that truly are DUMB EASY to make!!!

1-2 BUCKWHEATIES (CEREAL(s)):

After you’ve sprouted and dried you buckwheat, you can use it to make cereal.

There are 2 ways you can do this. Simply add the buckwheat to a bowl and then add dates,

raisins, cashews or macadamias (or your favorite nut),hemp seeds and banana. Pour your

choice of Coregasm (I love Chai Spice or Vanilla with this) and DEVOUR!!

The second way is to take all of the ingredients above, minus the bananas, and mix with

honey or coconut nectar. I must warn you though that during refrigeration, it will harden, so if

you plant to do it this way, break it into smaller bite sized pieces so that it’s easier to eat. If you

add honey or nectar to your cereal mix and then refrigerate it whole, you will not be a happy

camper. It will be too hard to break apart.

In bite sized pieces though, it’s so much easier, especially when you add your favorite

Coregasm.

I’ve tried both ways and love both ways, but the second way can be tough on your jaw and

teeth after some time, so if it turns out to be your favorite, mix it up a little. Your jaw will thank

you for it ☺!!

So When Was The Last Time You Had A COREGASM?

3 - The eRawtic Strawberry COREGASM:

The best and most ideal place to get your strawberries would be from your own garden ☺! The next best place is your local farmers’ market and if you don’t have access to that then your local health food store’s organic section should be able to help you out!

When choosing your strawberries make sure they’re dark red and small to medium in size. The larger strawberries don't make for good milk because they tend to be lighter and have less flavor.

Tools Ingredients

Blender 3C Filtered Water

Large Bowl or Measuring Cup 27-30 Strawberries

Tablespoon Honey

Sprout Bag Sesame Seeds/Almonds

Almonds are my absolute favorite to use for any milk combinations I do, but it’s really easy for

me to get them truly RAW and organic straight from the farmers themselves at my farmers’

markets here in California. If you can get them GREAT, if not, trust me, sesame tastes just as

amazing! Here, I use an almond base.

Nut/Seed Soak Time

Almonds 12 hours @ room temp

Brown Sesame Seeds 8 hours @ room temp

White Sesame Seeds 4 hours @ room temp

After soaking process, rinse thoroughly

• Add 3C of filtered water to your blender

• Blend for at least 1 minute. When done…

• Get your bowl and sprout bag ready

• Pour your milk base through your sprout bag and into the bowl

• Pour milk back into blender

• Add your strawberries (27-30) Usually this is 1lb

• Add your honey (3 – 4 T)

• Blend

• Devour!

Page 12: erawticfoodsebook

I usually make sure that I have cold water on hand for this one. It always tastes better that

way to me. Also make sure to clean your sprout bag right away. Sesame seed pulp is a tragic

stink if left in your trash too long. Though you could also use it for cookies and exfoliation!! The

same goes for the almond pulp. If you have no plans for it, like making cookies or onion rings,

then place it in a separate bag than your usual kitchen trash and discard.

4 - For Chai Spice COREGASM:

Use almond or sesame seed base and then add

• ½ t of Cinnamon

• ½ t of Fennel

• ¼ t of Cardamom

• ¼ t of Cloves

• ¼ t of Nutmeg

• 3 T of Honey (or to taste)

• Blend

• DEVOUR COREGASM!!!

5 - For Cinnamon Toast Crunch COREGASM:

Use almond or sesame base and then add

• ¼ t of Cinnamon

• ¼ t of Nutmeg

• 1/8 t of Cloves

• 2 T of Raw Organic Mesquite

• 1 t of Ground Vanilla or 1 Ugandan Vanilla Bean

• 3 - 4 T of Honey

• Blend

• DEVOUR COREGASM!!!

6 - eRAWtic GREEN SMOOTHIE:

I’ve heard sooo many people claim that you can’t build your body living a raw vegan lifestyle.

Well all I have to say about that is FALSE…FALSE…FALSE. I’ve done it and I’m still doing it RAW! See for yourselves ☺☺☺☺!!

http://www.facebook.com/erawticalchemist

My favorite smoothie is the Green Smoothie. I would never have thought to mix the two until I

read an interesting book on it. Changed my life and I’ve fallen in love with smoothies altogether

now. Here’s my green smoothie recipe.

Tools Ingredients

Blender 2 C of filtered water

Glass 3 Bananas

6 large romaine leaves or handful of spinach

1 T of Coconut Butter

1 T of Coconut Oil

4 Medjool Dates (pitted)

2 T of Cacao Butter

Chai Spices (see chai spice coregasm recipe)

1 T of Cashew Butter

If you’re using Cacao Butter, you’ll have to melt it first. If you have a dehydrator, set it to 95

degrees and place the Cacao Butter in until melted or you can place it inside a mason jar with

the lid and sit in a bowl of hot water. Allow to melt while your prepping other ingredients. You

may have to check that the water hasn’t gone too cool. If it has, run more hot water into the

bowl until butter is thoroughly melted.

If you’re not using Cacao Butter, simply add water and ingredients to your blender and blend

away until smooth.

It should turn a pretty green. You may have to coach the mixture with a spoon at first to get it

going. I know some of you are thinking YUK!! I don’t want greens in my smoothie… but I

promise you won’t even know they’re there. This is fantastic for breakfast, lunch, dinner or as

my favorite … post-workout ☺.

8 – eRAWtic WHITE CHOCOLATE COCONUT CRÈME PIE:

Tools

• Blender

• Food processor

• Large Knife or Cleaver

• Table Spoon

• Measuring Spoons

• Measuring Cup

• Mason Jar/Glass Pot

• Glass Pie Plate and Cover or Wrap

Crust

• 1 ½ C of Almonds (Really Raw Soaked for 12 Hours. Drained and Rinsed)

• 1 ½ C of Raisins (Golden Hunza are my fave, but regular will do the trick too!)

Add your almonds and raisins to your food processor and process until it sticks to the sides. You

will have some whole raisins left, it’s ok. It just adds to the flavor.

Take your mixture and pour it into your glass pie plate. Your crust should reach at least half

way up the sides of the pie plate. Smooth the crust with your hands. You can also use the

backend of your table spoon to easily flatten and shape your crust.

• To melt your Cacao butter: • Place Cacao butter in mason jar with lid and sit it in a bowl of hot water. This is ONLY if

you don’t have a dehydrator. If you do have a dehydrator, set it to 95 degrees and allow

it to melt. Check on it every 5 minutes or so. A good size chunk to use can easily fit in

the palm of your hand or on your table spoon. You can use any leftover Cacao Butter for

your face, body or maybe make some candies!!

Filling

• 1 C of Cashews (Soaked for about an hour)

• 1 T of Coconut Oil

• 2 T of Coconut Butter

• 4 T of Cacao Butter

• 1 Young Thai Coconut (all meat inside)

• ¾ C of Coconut Water (of Young Thai Coconut)

• Juice of 1 small lemon

• 1 Vanilla Bean (slice pod and remove the vanilla from inside)

• 2 T of Honey (raw organic), then add for preferred taste

• Sea Salt (just a pinch)

Page 17: erawticfoodsebook

Add coconut water, cashews, sea salt, coconut oil, coconut butter, melted cacao butter,

contents of vanilla bean, coconut meat, lemon juice & honey to the blender. Coach the mixture

with your spoon as it will be thick. When done, pour mixture into pie plate. Smooth over and

cover with a wrap for best results. Let stand for at least 8 hours to solidify or let it keep

overnight.

Topping:

• Strawberries (8 – 10)

• Dates (4 -6 Pitted)

After your pie has solidified, you can add your topping! I love strawberry (big surprise lol) and

mango the best.

For the strawberry topping simple take 8-10 strawberries and 4 medjool pitted dates. Blend

until creamy. Smooth onto your pie and DEVOUR!!! What an AMAZING breakfast ☺!!!

9 - For the Mango Coconut Crème Pie, you’ll use the same amount of dates. You may need

two if your mangoes are small. Taste test until satisfied.

10 - Beautifying Curry Almond Pate:

Tools Ingredients

Blender ¼ t Cayenne

Spoon 1 t Curry

Cutting Board 2 T of Lemon Juice

Food Processor 1 T of Coconut Amino

Large Bowl 2 C of Almonds (soaked 8-12 hours)

1 Large Tomato

1 Small Onion

1 Carrot

2 t of Sea Salt

This pate is SUPER yummy and I’ll show you how to do various dishes with it as well.

Note: Many Curry powders contain toasted ingredients so if you’d like to prepare your own, this

is how.

Curry Masala

• ½ C of Coriander Seeds

• 3 T Turmeric Powder

• 1 t of Black Peppercorns

• 1 ½ t of Cumin Seeds

• 1 t of Mustard Seeds

• 1 t of Fenugreek Seeds

• 3 dried red Chile Pods

• 20 Curry Leaves

Page 19: erawticfoodsebook

Grind in a blender and store in an airtight jar (i.e) Mason Jar. ☺

This masala is typical of South Indian cuisine. It adds taste and heat to sauerkrauts, hummus,

seed sauces and salad dressing!!

• You should start by cutting your tomato, carrot and onion in quarters or more if you like

☺. Place them into your food processor and process until smooth.

• In your blender chop your almonds and then empty into bowl. It will be hard to start

your mix going with those dry almonds sitting on your blade. So chop them up, empty

them into a bowl and then add your carrot, onion and tomato mixture to blender first.

• Add almonds on top as well as your other ingredients; lemon, curry cayenne, coconut

amino, and sea salt. Blend!

• You may have to coach the mix with your spoon to get it going and to be mixed

smoothly enough.

THAT’S IT! Easy huh?

Add this pate as a topping or side dish to your favorite salad or stuff it in a pepper. You can see

a video of this here http://www.youtube.com/erawticvixen

11 - SALADS:

With the basic marinated Kale recipe you can use it as a side salad or as a base for an “Epic

Salad”. You can see the basic marinated kale recipe @

http://www.youtube.com/erawticvixen

For Marinated Kale:

Basic Marinated Kale with Coal activated Sea Salt __________________

Tools Ingredients

Large bowl 2 Bunches of Kale

Cutting board Apple Cider Vinegar

Knife Extra Virgin Organic Olive Oil

Measuring Cup Onion (white, red or yellow)

Measuring Spoons Sea Salt

The Kale bunches I used in the video were about medium to large in size. After you thoroughly

wash and rinse your kale. Peel the leafy green part from the spine and place in large bowl for

sea salt massage. 1 to 1 ½ t of sea salt should be enough for your massage. This is to help

with proper digestion by breaking down the coarseness of the greens.

Page 21: erawticfoodsebook

Taste after massage to make sure not too salty. If so, then simple rinse greens, add 1 t of sea

salt back to greens and then add 1/4 C of Apple Cider Vinegar, 1/4 C of Olive Oil and 3 ring cuts

of your favorite onion. I love white onions with my kale. Massage again!! When done, place in a

bowl with airtight lid or cover with a wrap of some sort. Let stand for at least 4 hours for a

good marinate. For softer kale, allow to marinate overnight or for at least 8 hours. Enjoy alone

or use it as a base for a meal of a salad like the “Epic Salad” pictured below.

Epic Salad w/ marinated kale base topped w/ Sundried Botija Olives, Avocadoes, Nasturtiums, Magenta Spinach and Kim Chi

For a simple salad with Tahini dressing I use butter lettuce and romaine or baby spinach. I love

them all mixed together. Another good one is beet greens, they have a smooth buttery taste to

them.

BLOODY 9 VEGAN WINE:

Bloody 9 Vegan Wine is actually a juice but Bloody 9 Vegan Wine sounds much cooler. Another

reason I call it that is because of its rich dark color and the use of 9 different ingredients. It’s an

excellent juice for purifying your blood and clearing your skin. When I first made this drink I

honestly thought I would not like it all and would be drinking it purely for my health, but I was

pleasantly surprised to find that I adored this drink. I hope you do to. If you’d like to give it a

try, here’s how to make it!

Page 23: erawticfoodsebook

Tools Ingredients

Juicier 1 Apple

Cutting Board 1 Lemon (with skin)

Knife 1 Cucumber

Measuring Cup 1 Beet (small/medium)

Strainer 2 in piece of Turmeric Root

Glass ¼ Slice of Black Radish

6 Sorrel leaves

6 Beet green leaves

6 Broccoli leaves

After you rinse your greens, place them next to or on your cutting board and begin slicing and

dicing your other ingredients so that they fit into your juicier. Try to mix up the juicy and dry

ingredients so that they move easier through your juicer. Have a cup underneath to catch your

juice. After done, strain your juice into a large measuring cup. You may have to strain it a

couple of time. From there pour into glass and ENJOY!!!
