Founded by prof. Giampaolo Fabris, pioneer of sociology of consumption since the early ‘60s, Episteme was taken over in May 2011 by Monica Fabris, current President and owner of the company.

Giampaolo Fabris carried out an important activity of academic teaching and published works that are now considered as milestones of the sector. He played a role of catalyst attracting around himself the best researches in Italy and abroad.

In tune with the vision of its founder, Episteme conceives of itself as a cloud nourished by a community of consultants with a passion for research.

We operate as a network and cooperate with think tanks, universities and companies specialized in complementary methodologies and sectors.

Episteme is a place where to meet and exchange views, where great value is assigned to the human and relational component of business, where respect for people and their centrality are crucial.

She graduated in Philosophy from Milan University. In 1992 she was put in charge of the Qualitative Department of GPF & Associati, founded by Giampaolo Fabris.

From 1998 to 2007 she was member of the board of directors of the company and in charge of the Department devoted to brand research (Brand Care System).

In 2007 became President of GPF SpA. Being an expert of dynamic psychology applied to market research, she cooperated with the chair of “Theory and Techniques of advertising” at IULM University and gave seminars on marketing and innovation at Milan University. She published an essay on communication and advertising in the automotive sector in the collection “Il dolce tuono” (Franco Angeli, 2007). In May 2011 she took over Episteme, of which she is the President and owner.

After graduating in Economics from Genoa University, in 1996 started his career as an Accountant. In 1997 he became Accounting Auditor at the Ministry of Justice. Since 2008 he is a member of board of directors in several companies and in 2009 he was appointed President of the Board of directors of ATA Spa and the year after President of the Board of directors of AVA S.p.a. As a consultant of accounting management he cooperates with the Faculty of Management Engineering of the Genoa University and has a broad experience in the sectors of building trade, environment, sea transports. He is the CEO of Episteme since May 2011.

Graduated in Philosophy (specialisation in Psychology) in 1991 at Milan University under the supervision of Franco Fornari. Afterwards she attended the School of Specialisation in Psychology at the same university. She trained for a long time as a psychoanalyst.

After an experience in high school as a special aid teacher, she worked as a consultant for several market research companies (at first for Explorer, afterwards for Research International).

In GPF, where she started her experience in 1990, she specialized in communication studies. She joined Episteme in May 2011.

Graduated in statistics, he started his career in GPF & Associati as head of the EDP department. He was in charge of developing methodologies for data analysis. In 2000 he worked in one of the main companies in the trade of periodical publications as an internet manager. His main tasks included implementing websites, planning advertising, coordinating the statistical unit. In 2003 he was appointed member of the board of directors and managing director of a company in the trade of periodical publications (main tasks: advertising sales, media planning, media buying, subscriptions management). Missing his first passion for numbers, in 2006 he joined GPF one more time as head of the EDP department, working with quant researchers in the ideation and management of data analysis systems. In June 2011 he joined Monica Fabris in Episteme, where he works as statistical researcher and managing director.

Carlo Lusena

Graduated in Philosophy with honours from the Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa, during the years of university she spent a year in France and a year in the UK. In 2002 she completed a Master in European Studies from the University of Siena and Strasbourg Robert Schuman. From 2002 to 2005 she was a PhD candidate in Moral Philosophy at Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa.

She started her career in market research in Synovate Censydiam, where she specialized in psycho-diagnostic moderation and methodologies of motivational segmentation.

After a work experience in GPF, since May 2011 she is Research Director in Episteme, where she mainly deal with qualitative studies. She is an expert of creativity and innovation, and trained as a facilitator in Creative Problem Solving at CREA Italy.

Her marketing competences range from FMCGs to insurances, finance, advertising, charities and public service.

Graduated in Statistics for Demographic Analysis at Rome University “La Sapienza”, in 2002 she got a Master in “Statistics for Market Research and Public Opinion Surveys” at Milan University (Bicocca). She started her career in 2003 in GPF & Associati as a quantitative researcher in the team of Monica Fabris, dealing especially with the 3SC Sociocultural Monitor (long running survey aimed at interpreting socio-cultural change and consumption in the Italian society) and with Brand Equity studies. In September 2011 she joined Episteme where she works as a senior quantitative researcher.

Graduated in Philosophy with honours at Milan University, in 2004 and 2005 she was a research fellow on Gender Studies at the Trentino Institute of Culture. She worked in GPF from 2006 to 2011, at first in the qualitative department, afterwards in the quantitative area as well. In June 2011 she joined Episteme, where she deals especially with studies on social change with a mixed methodology approach (in-depth interviews, quantitative research online and with traditional methods, desk analysis on secondary data and specialized literature).

In 1986 she got a diploma in Business Studies and Languages. She started her career in 1989 in GPF & Associati, where she was in charge of implementing the graphic and visual communication of research results, laying out newsletters and product leaflets (Monitor 3SC). In 2000 she was appointed head of the reporting office. In particular she was in charge of supporting Monica Fabris’ team for Brand Care System qualitative and quantitative studies.

In Episteme she works in the administrative department and takes care of presentations, ensuring their visual effectiveness.
