The LSP recognises that the transition to a low carbon economy is essential to future resilience and prosperity as well as limiting future climate change. In February 2010, the LSP set up the Environmental Sustainability Partnership (ESP) to deliver the targets and aspirations contained within the SCS. The first task of the ESP is to tackle climate change, by providing the leadership to cut district-wide emissions by 45% by 2026 and ensuring that the district is resilient to the impacts of unavoidable climate change. By having Board members from different sectors, the ESP facilitates joined-up working and collaboration across Bath and North East Somerset.
