With a history of excelling in the solid waste industry, Cornerstone professionals are also known for providing environmental services in other commercial circles, including chemical, pharmaceutical, banking, legal, real estate, pulp and paper, metals finishing, agricultural and transportation. Cornerstone personnel work with clients from the initial planning phases through compliance monitoring. We have provided site investigation and engineering services at a full range of sites, including operating and inactive industrial facilities, hazardous waste sites, landfills and commercial facilities. Our work has spanned subsurface conditions from coastal plains to fractured rock environments, and has addressed a range of pollutants. Our experience with technologies and site conditions include: • In situ remediation of small-scale petroleum spills • Asbestos-containing materials at large commercial properties • Contaminated sediments and soils removal • Groundwater pumping and treatment • In situ treatment • Containment • Demolition • Excavation and disposal What Sets Cornerstone Apart? • Creative, customized approaches - Our experts are skilled at developing successful project approaches that integrate redevelopment or site use goals, sus- tainability, protection of human health and the envi- ronment, and cost. • Building consensus - We bring stakeholders together to achieve results that meet client needs while antici- pating regulator and public concerns. • Nationwide presences - Offering perspective and knowledge of local business and regulatory issues, we also incorporate regional, national, and international perspectives. • Integration of hydrogeology and engineering - We understand that site characteristics and their relation- ship to engineering design is key to success.

Our experience with technologies and site conditions include:• In situ remediation of small-scale petroleum spills• Asbestos-containing materials at large commercial

properties• Contaminated sediments and soils removal• Groundwater pumping and treatment• In situ treatment• Containment• Demolition• Excavation and disposal

What Sets Cornerstone Apart?• Creative, customized approaches - Our experts are

skilled at developing successful project approaches that integrate redevelopment or site use goals, sus-tainability, protection of human health and the envi-ronment, and cost.

• Building consensus - We bring stakeholders together to achieve results that meet client needs while antici-pating regulator and public concerns.

• Nationwide presences - Offering perspective and knowledge of local business and regulatory issues, we also incorporate regional, national, and international perspectives.

• Integration of hydrogeology and engineering - We understand that site characteristics and their relation-ship to engineering design is key to success.

• An exit strategy or end use perspective - Working with our clients early in the process to establish project goals, we keep the end in mind.

Recent Cornerstone Experience

Cornerstone prides itself on establishing close and productive relationships with its clients. A few recent examples of our environmental services assignments include:

Nascolite Site PRP Group (NJ) – Groundwater investigations and groundwater modeling for the design of a groundwater containment remedy that includes groundwater pumping, on-site treatment and re-injection into the aquifer. Forensic analysis facilitated a reduced pumping scenario.

Tantalo Waste Disposal Site (NY) – Designed and provided construction services for site closure at this inactive hazardous waste site, including an enhanced monitored natural attenuation groundwater remedy for chlorinated alkenes using injection of sodium lactate and a proprietary extended release compound.

Confidential Client (NJ) – Conducted investigations to define the extent of groundwater plume of hexavalent chromium, including the aquifer and sediment samplng and tidal studies. Conducted groundwater modeling to aid in the design of a downgradient groundwater containment remedy.

ET Environmental (NY) – Environmental services for closure of an undergound storage tank system and vehicle maintenance facility, including onsite monitoring, field screening, sampling, direction of product and contaminated water removal and preparation of Remedial Action Plan to address residual soil and groundwater impacts.
