EM 12.1.0.3 Install� EM 12.1.0.3 will allow you:

– Perform fresh Install of EM 12.1.0.3

– Upgrade to EM 12.1.0.3 from (10.2.0.5, 11.1, 12.1.0.1 (with BP1), 12.1.0.2)

� All the platform will be released on same day !

� OMS to Agent versions compatibility

� Versions supported: WLS -10.3.6 , JDK - 1.6.0.43.0 ,JRF - 11.1.1.6.0 , Webtier - 11.1.1.6.0

EM 12.1.0.3 Install - What's New � Configure Software Library while doing EM install simple and adv install

� Requirements:

– Recommend this option to customers to save time post install

– Mounted location on the OMS host so that the same location can be used when you install

additional OMS instances

– OMS process owner has read/write access to that location

– Oracle recommends that you maintain the Software Library outside the Middleware Home

– if install EM for a test environment and do not want to provide a mounted location, then you can

provide a local file system location. In this case, after the installation, make sure you migrate to a

mounted location, software lib migration steps in adv install guide

Software lib location is prefilled based on your middleware location

How does EM 11.2.0.3 DB templates work?

1. Download template 11.2.0.3_Database_Template_for_EM12_1_0_3__<platform>.zip

from OTN

2. Install DB 11.2.0.3 (Software only OR Install & configure )

3. Copy the EM 11.1.0.3 DB template to <DB home>/assistants/dbca/templates

4. Unzip 11.2.0.3_Database_Template_for_EM12_1_0_3__<platform>.zip

5. Invoke dbca from <DB home>/bin/

6. Pick your template :Small, Medium, Large

7. Finish the configuration

Usecase: Install DB with small template and then pick medium deployment type while doing

EM install then you can run the respective sql to fix the db parameters.

� EM 12.1.0.3 installer applies patch 14482558 and patch 13349651 on the Oracle WebLogic

Server 10.3.6 that gets installed with EM 12.1.0.3 installer Recommended !

– If you are using an existing WLS 10.3.6 then user has to make sure that you apply these patches

manually (using wls smart utility) before starting the EM install.

Best Practice for EM 12.1.0.3 Install

� Make sure that the binaries downloaded from OTN have correct

byte/checksum value as displayed on OTN

� Make sure that after you unzip the binaries you have following folder:

� Use EM Installer to install WLS.

� Use DB template to configure database that will house the EM

repository

1. Download template 11.2.0.3_Database_Template_for_EM12_1_0_3__<platform>.zip

from OTN

2. Download the Database 11.2.0.3 zip for the required platform

3. Start the Database Install : Invoke ./runInstaller

4. Select the Database install type:

– Create and Configure

– Software only

In this demo we will select Software only

5. Finish the DB install

6. Copy the 11.2.0.3_Database_Template_for_EM12_1_0_3__<platform>.zip to <DB home>/assistants/dbca/templates

7. Unzip 11.2.0.3_Database_Template_for_EM12_1_0_3__<platform>.zip

8. Invoke <db_home>/bin/dbca and select the template type: small, medium,

large

9. Uncheck the option: Configure Enterprise Manager

It configures DB control and then later you have deinstall it for EM install

10. Run the shpool.sql script (selected by default), this sets the required

shpool value for EM install

� Invoke the runInstaller

� Uncheck the option “I Wish to receive security update” and click Next

� It is recommended that you search for the updates. Provide the

username/password and click Search for updates

� If there any updates available then apply the updates and click Next

� Execute the system specific pre-requisites. Once all of them are

successfully click next . Don't ignore any failure or warning

� Select Simple Install or Advance install. In this demo we will select

advance install option

� Provide middleware location. Note 12.1.0.2 EM installer will install

WLS 10.3.6 in the home location provided

The hostname filed get pre-populated

with the hostname of the host where

you will be installing the EM 12.1.0.3

This is the time to verify that EM

installer has picked up the correct

hostname, if not pls modify it now

� Select the plugins that you want EM installer to deploy for you. Note

the default plugins are already check in.

existing database doesn’t meet the
