ENDANGERED SPECIES IN COLOMBIA

Our country is a land full of both animal and plant diversity, Colombia

is in the richest nations naturally, unfortunately has been destroyed

because due to fully human activities each day are significantly reducing species population number, putting

on red alert biologists and naturalists, but we must not forget that this is not a single Colombian phenomenon is a reality that afflicts everyone. Here are some species in danger of extinction

in our country

Loro Orejiamarillo

This beautiful bird, today is critically endangered with

extinction nationally and globally. This is due, in part, to the destruction of their

habitats, mainly to the destruction of the wax palm which it's nesting

place

For hundreds of years the Condor has struggled against humanity to

survive. The Condor has been threatened by hunting,

deforestation (loss of habitat), air pollution, water and food, and severe reduction of their food

source. Although still not started a census of the Condor, it is

believed that its population has been diminished in Ecuador,

Colombia, Peru and Venezuela

continues to decline.

Cóndor of the Andes

Its habitat is rainforest, is distributed from southern Mexico to Colombia and Venezuela.

The main reason why this species is in endangered is for destruction by man's natural habitat, the tropical

rainforest. The second cause of their extinction is

their capture, sale and smuggling.
