Enabling a Digital Business with APIs, Microservices and Robotic Process Automation

On Thursday 26 April, 2018 we gathered together in Capgemini's Accelerated Solutions Environment in London to explore how APIs, Microservices and Robotic Process Automation are helping to shape the organisations of the future. James Allerton-Austin (Senior Director, Oracle Cloud Platform)
kicked the afternoon off with an overview of the multifarious digital disruptions facing an enterprise today and how some of the largest
corporations have risen to the challenge of harnessing them.
Luis Weir (Oracle Ace Director and Developer
Champion CTO at Capgemini) continued the
deep-dive with an overview of Capgemini’s approach for
digital platforms. Luis’ presentation highlighted the importance of digital business platforms that
enable digital ecosystems that drive collaboration,
automation and – crucially – a better customer
experience.
Duncan Beeby (Business Development Manager for
Cloud Integration Solutions at Oracle) closed the day
with his insights on how to enable a digital business –
starting with from moonshot thinking before
navigating the digital economy with an agile strategic platform that
leverages connectivity and automation.
Up next was Sander Rensen, one of Capgemini’s experts in Application Outsourcing, Cloud
and the SOA Suite. Sander gave us a insight into API Legacy
Modernisation, highlighting the cost of doing nothing before
giving the group an overview of some of the modernisation
strategies being used by large organisations to address the problems that legacy systems
cause.
