Valley-fold as shown. On the lowerhalf of the model, the fold extendsunderneath the top layer.

Valley-fold the top flap to theright. Valley-fold on the blackdot so that the corner touchesthe existing crease.

Oustide-reverse-fold onexisting creases.

Bend the trunk upward,stretching the bottom edge.Be careful not to tear thepaper!

Make a pleat to suggest theelephant’s eye. Roll andunroll the front tusk formingmany vertical valley creasesand giving the tusk a naturalcurvature. Repeat behind.

Outside-reverse-fold onexisting creases.

Reverse-fold the top of the earso that it no longer protrudes.Turn over.

The elephant pop-up is ready to popup. The trunk sticks out a bit totantalize the viewer as to what willhappen when we open the card...

...Pop goes the Elephant! Pull the left and right sides apartand the elephant lifts its head!
