2. AC1 Strip: Sew together (2) A 1" x 1-1/2" rectangles and (5) A and (6) C 1-1/2" squares, refer to diagram. Trim to 1-1/2" x 12-1/2". Make 3 AC1 strips. Set aside.

3. Repeat step 2. to make following strips: (2) AD1, (1) AH1, (2) AE1, (1) AG1, (1) AI1 and (2) AF1, refer to Quilt Diagram.

4. AC2 Strip: Sew together (2) A 1" x 1-1/2" rectangles and (7) A and (8) C 1-1/2" squares. Trim to 1-1/2" x 16-1/2". Add (1) A 1" x 16-1/2" strip to top and to bottom of AC strip. Trim to 2-1/2" x 16-1/2". Make 3 AC2 strips. Set aside.

UNIT ASSEMBLY1. ABC Unit: Sew (1) B and (1) C 12-7/8" triangles, right sides together. Open and square to 12-1/2". Add (1) A 1" x 12-1/2" strip to each side of BC unit. Trim to 14-1/2" x 12-1/2". Repeat step for following units:

5. Repeat step 4. to make following strips: (2) AD2, (1) AH2, (2) AE2, (1) AG2, (1) AI2 and (2) AF2, refer to Quilt Diagram.

6. AJ strip: Sew together via long edge (1) A 1" x 15-1/2" strip and (1) J 1-1/2" x 15-1/2" strip. Trim to 1-1/2" x 15-1/2". Make 12 AJ strips.

BLOCK ASSEMBLY 6. Following number order sew strips to ABC unit as follows:1-(1) AC1 to left side 2-(1) A 1" x 14-1/2" to bottom 3-(1) J 1-1/2" x 13-1/2" to right side 4-(1) AJ strip to bottom 5-(1) A 1" x 14-1/2" strip to each side 6-(1) AC2 strip to top. Square block to 16-1/2". Make 3 ABC blocks.7. Repeat step 6. to make ABD-ABI blocks, see Quilt Diagram.

8. ROWS 1-4: Assemble three blocks into four rows as shown in Quilt Diagram. Then sew Row 1 to Row 2 and so forth.

9. Follow order number below, for proper placement of A and K strips:1-A 1-1/2" x (64-1/2") sides A 1-1/2" x (50-1/2") top/bottom2-K 1-1/4" x (66-1/2") sides K 1-1/4" x (52") top/bottom3-A 3-1/4" x (68") sides A 3-1/4" x (57") top/bottom

FINISHING Cut batting and backing 3" larger than top on all sides. Layer backing, batting and top together and baste or pin. When done quilting, trim excess batting and backing. Bind as usual. • finished size: 57" x 73".
