Eiichiro Oda

Eiichiro Oda is a Japanese manga artist.He was born in 1975.He was 17 years old when he created his first story,Wanted!, and won lots of awards.That got him into a job at the Weekly Shnen Jump magazine, where he worked as Shinobu Kaitani's assistant.Then,late in 1996,Oda drew two pirate-themed one-shot stories called "Romance Dawn".

The protagonist of these stories was Monkey D. Luffy.He then became the protagonist of One Piece,the best-selling manga series of all time. Thanks to this manga,Oda was named one of the manga artists that changed the history of manga.When he was a child,he was also influenced by Akira Toryiama,the artist who drew Dragon Ball.

Early life

In 1997,One Piece has become not only one of the most popular manga in Japan, but the best-selling manga series of all time. In 2013,the series won the 41st Japan Cartoonists Association Award Grand Prize.In 2008 Oda was elected fifth most favorite manga artists of Japan.Then in 2010 on a poll on the Mangaka that Changed the History of Manga Oda came in fourth.Oda and Akira Toriyama created a 2007 crossover one-shot called Cross Epoch, that contains characters from Toriyama's Dragon Ball and Oda's One Piece.

Personal LIfe

In 2004,Oda married Chiaki Inaba,who played Nami in one of Shonen Jump festa.After working as assistants to Watsuki,Oda,Hiroyuki Takei and Mikio It remain good friends. He also said several times that he is friends with the author of Toriko.Oda also said that Masashi Kishimoto is both a friend and a rival.
