Effects of climate change in Agriculture
By:Brandon Tucker
The average temperatures rise yearly.
This is effecting every country in the world.
All seasons show changes

Rising in Temperatures
Africa-four out of five people make their living directly from the land.
Agricultural downturns of 30 percent
Some countries it’s on track for declines of 50 percent or more
(Weiss, 2007)

Developing countries Being Effected Severely
India- on track to be the world's most populous country
We could see a 40 percent decline in agricultural productivity by the 2080s
Latin America is poised to suffer reductions of 20 percent or more
This could return thriving exporters such as Brazil to the subsistence-oriented nations they were a few decades ago.

Methods for Estimating Climatic Impacts on Agriculture
Two basic methods have been used to estimate theeffect of climate on crop production
1. Structural modeling- of crop and farmer response, combining the agronomic response of plants with economic/management decisions of farmers
2. Spatial analogue models- that exploit observed differences in agricultural production and climate among regions
(Schimmelpfenning, Lewandrowski, Reilly, Tsigas, & Parry)

Climate change will effect around 49 million more people by 2020
132 million by 2050
Africa will face the hardest task with the droughts longer and dependable on the rainy season to crops (Climate Change, 1998)
