Design Level 1 •  Present a system architecture with all modules and

connections. •  Describe the theory of operation about how the modules

work together etc. •  Present functional requirements for each module.

Remark: Design Level-1 usually corresponds to your proposal. However your conceptual design report must be “self-contained”. Therefore you have to include this level in your conceptual design report.

Design Level N (N>1) •  Repeat design level 1 for each module.

Example: Audio Power Amplifier – DC Power Supply •  This design process must go down to circuit diagram level

for the hardware parts of your projects and •  to detailed algorithms for the software parts of your

projects.

General Information About the Report •  Have more than one suggested solution that are

developed to design level-2! •  Analyze your proposal solutions:

•  Determine the best solution. •  Give circuit diagram/detailed algorithm only for the

best solution.

Ø  regarding its ability to achieve the desired goals, Ø  identify relative strengths and weaknesses, Ø  consider the cost and required time to finish, Ø  consider performance, maintenance, availability of parts, ease of use etc, Ø  determine your MUSTs and WANTs.
