Next meeting: Tuesday, Dec. 6 in Buffalo

The Sabres are 5-4-1 in their last 10 games vs. the Oilers; 4-5-1 on the road.

October 13, 1982: Phil Housley records first career NHL goal in a 9-2 win at Washington.

October 13, 2009: Jason Pominville scores his 100th career NHL goal in a 6-3 win at home against the New York Islanders.  THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW

Tonight’s game is the first in a three-game western swing. The team will visit Calgary on Tuesday night before heading to Vancouver

for a matchup with the Canucks on Thursday.

Despite their 7-4-1 record and plus-12 goal differential (38-26) in their last 12 games against Edmonton, the Sabres need a win

tonight to avoid losing five straight games to the Oilers for the first time since they lost seven in a row from March 14, 1987 to Nov.

13, 1988.

Matt Moulson enters tonight’s game with a point in each of his last three games dating back to last season and four goals in his last

seven games.
