Owner / User ResponsibilitiesItistheresponsibilityofthecontractor,installer,purchaser,owner,andusertoinstall,maintain,andoperateeColorCoveECPowercorefixturesinsuchamannerastocomplywithallapplicablecodes,stateandlocallaws,ordinances,andregulations.Consultwiththeappropriateelectricalinspectortoensurecompliance.

Create a Layout Plan Regardlessofthesizeandcomplexityofyourinstallation,thetimeyouspendplanningcanhelpminimizeinstallationandconfigurationissueslater.Keepthesesuggestionsinmindasyouplanyourinstallation:

• Usingthefixture’spowerconsumptionandefficiencyratings,thelightingdesignerorarchitectshouldcalculatethecovedimensionstoensurethatoperatingtemperaturesremainwithinsafelevels.Thedesignerorarchitectshouldalsodeterminethecove’sfasciadesignandfixturesetbackbasedonthecovedimensionsandroomwidth.Westronglyrecommendcreatingdimensionalmodelsandmockupspriortoinstallation.

• eColorCoveECPowercorefixturesareinstalledinseries.Thein-lineconnectorsallowend-to-endfixtureconnectionsforthebestvisualeffects.Wheninstallingfixturesend-to-end,allowaminimumdistanceof.125in(3mm)betweenfixtures,andamaximumdistanceof.625in(16mm).Formorespacingbetweenfixtures,usethe1ft(305mm)or5ft(1.5m)jumpercables.

• YoucaninstallarunofeColorCoveECPowercorefixturesusingthe10ft(3m)LeaderCablewithflyingleads.Thisoptionispreferablewhenconnectingtoathird-partyjunctionbox,orwhenretrofittinganexistingincandescentorfluorescentcovelightinginstallation.

Prepare for the Installation1. Verifythatallsupportingequipment(switches,linepowersources)isinplace.

2. Ifyourinstallationcallsforjumpercablestoaddspacebetweenfixtures,makesuretheyareavailable.

3. Ensurethatalladditionalparts(optionalmountingtracks,mountinghardware,terminators)andtoolsareavailable.

Install the FixturesYoucanmounteColorCoveECPowercorefixturesdirectlytoawall,ceiling,cabinet,orothersecuresurface.YoucaninstallseveraleColorCoveECPowercorefixturesinoptional4ft(1.2m)lengthsofmountingtracktoensureastraightrun.

Install Mounting Tracks (Optional)1. Field-cutthemountingtrackstothedesiredlengthwithahacksawortinsnips.

2. Installthemountingtracksusinghardwaresuitableforthemountingsurface.

Toensureproperfixturefit,hardwaremustnotextendabovethetrackstandoffsafterinstallation.Therecommendedmaximumspacingbetweenscrewsis12in(305mm).

Mount and Connect the FixturesMakesurethepowerisOFFbeforemountingandconnectingeWCoveECPowercorefixtures.

1. RotateaneWCoveECPowercorefixtureasnecessarytoprovideunobstructedaccesstothemountingholes.

2. Positionthefirstfixtureinaseries.

Ifusingmountingtracksonahorizontalsurface,snapthefixtureintothetrack.

Ifusingmountingtracksonverticaloroverheadsurfaces,orifnotusingmountingtracks,attachthefixturewithfour#6(3.5mm)mountingscrews(notincluded)suitableforthemountingsurface.

EnsurethatthemaleconnectorisinpositiontoreceivepowerfromthefemaleconnectorontheLeaderCableorWiringCompartment.

E You can use the fixture base as a template when pre-drilled pilot holes are required. Hold the fixture in place and mark the four screw holes.

3. Positionthenextfixtureintheseries,matchingthemaleconnectorendtothefemaleconnectorofthepreviouslymountedfixture.Attachthefixturetothesurfaceorsnapitintothetrack.

4. Continuemountingthefixtures,makingpowerconnectionsasyougo,untilalllightsintheseriesaremounted.

5.Inserttheprovidedterminatorintothelastfixtureintheseries.

Make Power Connections

Torunpowerorconduittothefirstfixtureinaseries(permanent, UL / cUL installations):

1. RemovethecoverfromtheeWCovePowercoreWiringCompartment.

2. Usingwirenuts,connectground,neutral,andlineinsidetheWiringCompartmenthousing,thenreplacethecover.

3. ConnecttheeWCovePowercoreWiringCompartmenttothefirstfixtureintheseries.
