MethodsMethods

• Save power; Setting up at the lowest level for the illumination of the microscope lamp (2300 lx).

• Surgical microscope, OMS-800 (Topcon, Japan) was used.

• Save energy; Turn off the ceiling light, using the indirect lighting.

• Overall case time, phaco time (total nucleus emulsification time), and complications were compared to a similar size group of cataract cases that were performed with a conventional illumination of the microscope lamp (above 17000 lx).

• Cataract surgery can be performed in the lower illumination more than imaged.
