all-Time vs. osweGo sTaTeElmira has played Oswego more than any other opponent in EC history. The Soaring Eagles hold a slight edge in the all-time series, leading the Lakers 43-42-5. Oswego has gotten the better of Elmira as of late, as the Lakers have won the last nine meetings.

osweGo sTaTe This seasonThe Lakers are off to another good season in 2013-14, owning a 10-2-2 overall record despite a roster filled with freshman skaters. They have not tasted defeat in their last nine contests, going 7-0-2 in those games, scor-ing on average six goals per contest. Oswego’s only two losses this season are on two totally difference spectrums as the Lakers dropped their sea-son opener, at home, to struggling Fredonia State (3-9-3). However, their other loss came on the road to No. 14 SUNY Geneseo.

coRTland sTaTe’s scoRinG oPTionsOswego has relied heavily on the play of three newcomers this season, Kenny Neil ’17, Matt Galati ’17, and Alex Botten ’17. Neil leads the team with 20 points on seven goals and 13 assists. Galati leads the Lakers in goals scored with 12 and is averaging one goal per game which is tied for second most in the country. Botten is the team’s third leading scorer, totaling 14 points on four goals and 10 assists.

noT in 40 yeaRsLast season’s leading goal scorer, Carter Shinkaruk ’16 became the first freshman to lead the Soaring Eagles in goals scored. Shinkaruk scored nine goals in his rookie campaign and will surely be a force on offense in 2013-14.

a siGn oF ThinGs To come?Last season the Soaring Eagles posted a 10-16 overall record, their first losing season since the 2004-05 season. Following the 2004-05 season, the EC men marched all the way to semifinals of the NCAA Tournament.
