The Real Story

While these are all fun, let me tell you the real story of Easter.

It’s a story about one Man, His power, but most of all, his love.

Welcome to Ancient Jerusalem!

Buzz says: The name Jerusalem means “Abode of

Peace” or the “Holy Sanctuary”.

Our story happens in Ancient Jerusalem.

Let’s see what Buzz has to say about Jerusalem.

Jesus Christ

Buzz says: Christ is not the last name of Jesus. It is the title given to Jesus alone

because He is the Messiah or Savior. The word Christ

means “the anointed one”.

The star of our story is Jesus Christ. It is His love that makes Easter special. He is the King who died for us because He loves us and wants to become King of our hearts.

Born on Christmas

Buzz says: We give gifts on Christmas to remember God’s

gift to us: Jesus.

Jesus was born on Christmas. His life was given as a gift. That’s why we give gifts on Christmas.

Born in a Manger

Buzz says: A manger is a wooden box that animals ate

out of.

We know that He was born in manger. A yucky place for a King to be born.

Made the Blind see.

Jesus was known for His miracles, such as:

Making the blind see...

Healed the Sick.

Jesus was known for His miracles, such as:

Healing the sick...

Fed the Hungry.

Jesus was known for His miracles, such as:

Feeding the hungry...

Calmed the Storm

Jesus was known for His miracles, such as:

And calming the storm.

But He was Accused.

Buzz says: When a crime is committed someone has to pay. Jesus paid the price for

our sins.

But evil men accused Him because they were afraid of His power. They wanted the power for themselves.

And He was crucified.

Buzz says: Being crucified was a painful and

embarrassing way to die.

Because of our sins, the bad things we have done because we want to do what we want, how we want, when we want, Jesus had to die for us.

By dying, Jesus took the punishment for us.

It’s like hurting your brother, but instead of you getting the rod, he got the rod for you, so you no longer need to be punished.

Then...

There was darkness.

Jesus took everything painful, everything scary, everything bad, and brought it with Him into the darkness.

But then...

There was Light!

Jesus was victorious over the darkness. So everything you’re afraid of has been defeated and destroyed.

An Open Tomb

Buzz says: People were buried in caves called tombs in those days. They sealed

these with large heavy stones.

What was left was an open tomb. No more dead person inside.

With no Body!

Buzz says: Jesus rose from the dead in what is called

“resurrection”.

The body had disappeared!

Jesus was alive!

Jesus was alive!

Not even death could stop Him.

He will open your eyes.

He will open your eyes...

He will heal you.

He will heal whatever is ailing you.

He will provide for all your needs.

and he’ll help you face anything.

He will never leave you alone.
