EA-PSM Power Flow verification validation case

6 Bus Power flow case

Introduction

Verification validation cases are run before each EA-PSM version release. Calculation results

are compared to Published Examples. EA-PSM Power flow Calulations are made using

Accelerated Gauss Seidel Method. Study includes generation and loads. Line impedance are

considered, line admittance are not considered. Comparisons are made against generation

schedule, bus voltage, power flows in primary value and presents. The difference in the

results is less than 0.1% for all bus voltages and power flows.

System Description

This is a six-bus system that is composed of lines, generators and loads. The line impedance

are considered. The schedule of generation and loading for each bus were taken as described

in Table 1.

Calculation Results

The calculations were performed using Accelerated Gauss Seidel Method. Voltage magnitude

and angle calculation error depicted in Table 3.
