שקט הטבע בטבע שורה הרמוניה בשלווה ובאיזון. בטבע אנו מחפשים יופי שקט, שלווה פנימית. מדבר הוא מקום בו אנו שוקעים בהרהורים בדממה, קשובים לכאורה לאין. הרים עליהם אנו מטפסים להרגיש חופש, לגעת בענן ושמים, לצפות בשקיעות השמש צובעות את היקום בקרני אור של צבעים וצללים עמוקים. אנו מסתגלים לטבע, מעניקים לטבע. הטבע היה כאן לפנינו. הוא יהיה הרבה

אחרי שנתכלה. אין אנו מחקים את הטבע, אלא למדים מחוכמתו.אנו חייבים ליצור סביבות חיים רגועות בעולם הקדחתני והדחוס שלנו. לעצב שכונות ובנינים רגועים, צורות שקטות, שלווה, לא קופסאות אחסנה סתמיות של חומות בטון המתנשאות וחונקות אותנו באכזריות. קופסאות המגדלים חלונות בהם נייחים מקומות ביניהן, חסרי משמעות אנכיים חללים יוצרות מביטים ישירות אחד אל השני. מגדלים אנוכיים עומדים צוננים אחד ליד רעהו יוצרים חללים בתווך כחיילים במפגן. כך גם סביבות המגורים שלנו. בנינים ביניהם. קירות תוחמים חללים ויוצרים מקומות לאנשים. לפיכך, בנינים חייבים להתייחס ולכבד אחד את רעהו, להעניק לטבע, לאפשר לאוויר ולאור להגיע. צורות מעוגלות יוצרות חללים המשכיים שקטים עם תנועה זורמת, כמו בטבע. יהיו רגועים, רכים, שקטים. כשהבניינים ישוחחו אחד עם כשהבניינים שלנו רעהו במחווה של כבוד, יקרינו שלווה, אזי היופי ירווח במקומותינו. לפיכך, שפה חדשה צריכה להיוולד, שפה של צורות רגועות, כאותיות צורניות המתייחסות אחת אל השנייה באיזון ובהרמוניה. שפה חדשה אשר תעניק לנו כלים ליצור צורות ארכיטקטוניות שימושיות ודינאמיות, פשוטות ואפילו בסיסיות. צורות שקט, של מקומות וייצרו שקטה בשיחה כמו לשנייה אחת יתייחסו אשר

המטרה חינוכית היא יצירת קונספציה ומסגרת חינוכית חדשה המיועדת לילדים שנפלטו מבתי הספר בגלל מצבים כלכליים וחברתיים בעייתיים קשים. הפרוגראמה קראה לבניין בן 1000 מטר רבוע הכולל כתות לימוד לקבוצות קטנות, חדרי ייעוץ, כתות מחשב, ספריה, חדר רב תכליתי ומנהלה. הפרויקט נתפש כ"נאת מדבר", מקום של שקט, מרגוע ובטחון. שני אגפים מעוגלים הבניין צורות והגותי. לימודי חברתי, לב המהווה אינטימית פנימית חצר חובקים ומקומרים המזכירות גבעות רכות מסמלות הרמוניה ושיתוף. הטופוגרפיה המבנית בנויה מבטון מותז גלוי.

הפרויקט הינו מיוחד באדריכלות בישראל בטכנולוגית הבניה, צורתו והשימוש בחומרי גימורו.בניה בכוח שימוש תוך "לו-טק", בניה ובתהליכי "היי-טק" בתכנון דוגלת העיצוב פילוסופית מקומי בלתי מיומן בשטח. הבטון מותז הוא חומר גימור עמיד בתנאי אקלים קשים הדורש רמת

תחזוקה נמוכה ביותר.

THE DAVID AZRIELI INSTITUTE OF EDUCATIONAL ENRICHMENT

The educational goal is to create a new concept and framework of education dedicated to children who drop out of school due to economic and social crises.The program called for a 1,000 square meter building consists of small classrooms, consulting rooms, computer rooms, library, multi purpose room and administration. The project is conceived as "oasis environment", a place of quietude, tranquility, warmth and safety. The building is conceptualized as nature with soft topographical forms made of spray concrete. The curvilinear asymmetrical buildings symbolize harmony and togetherness like Yin-Yang. Two hill-like wings enclose an intimate courtyard among them, the heart of the project. The courtyard serves as a place of social and educational activities as well as an intimate contemplative space. The complex stands as an architectural innovation for Israel due to its engineered construction and form. The design philosophy advocates know-Tech: High-tech design process utilizes sophisticated software directly incorporated into the engineering and shop drawings fabrication design; Low-tech construction methods with local, unskilled construction workers; Low construction costs through the use of economical spray-on concrete and unskilled construction workers; Low maintenance costs through the use of exposed rough concrete finish aimed to withstand the hard desert climatic conditions.

פילוסופית תכנון בית הספר הבינלאומי האמריקאי מעוגנת בפשטות, בראיית בית הספר ככפר לימודים בחיק הטבע. תכנון סביבת חיים שלווה בלב גנים, מקום שהטבע הוא המרכיב הראשי עם אור ומבטי נוף קרוב ורחוק, תיצור אווירת לימודים שלווה, שמחה וחופש. הקמפוס כולל את בניני והסיפריה המרכזית בית הספר היסודי, חטיבת הביניים, התיכון, מבנה הקפיטריה, האודיטוריום בשטחי בנייה בני 15,000 מטר רבוע. המבנים בני שתי הקומות הינם פשוטים במראם החיצוני

ומשלבים חללי תנועה ומפגשים מקורים תוך שימוש באור ואיוורור טבעיים ובמבטי נוף מירביים.

הספריה המבנה המרכזי בקמפוס הוא בניין המשמש מרכז ללימוד עצמי, הרחבת אופקים, סקרנות ומרגוע. השאיפה הייתה ליצור מבנה עם לב ונשמה עבור הילדים והסגל אשר יביע את יופי הטבע והאנוש. הבניין נתפס כטופוגרפיה טבעית בלב נוף כפרי הולך ונעלם של גבעות, פרדסים וחורשות. המבנה עגול בדומה להר ומסמל שלמות, חיבוק והתכנסות פנימית שקטה. שתי קומות בשטח של 1800 מטר רבוע מכילות ספריה מרכזית ומשרדי הנהלה בקומה העליונה וכתות לימוד מחשבים בקומה התחתונה. לב הבניין הוא חצר פנימית עגולה ומחבקת, חלל פתוח לאור ולשמים ובחובו בריכת דגי זהב ועצי נוף. חלל זה הוא מקום של שקט נפשי והירגעות, מקום התייחדות הילדים לבדם או עם

חבריהם לשיחה שקטה. מבטים מן הספרייה וכיתות הלימוד מגלים נוף פנימי קסום ורגוע. בסביבה, הפגיעה להקטנת הירוקה האקולוגית האדריכלות עקרונות את משלב הספריה בניין לחסכון בהוצאות התפעול השוטפות ולשיפור התדמית האקדמית. במבנה יושמו עקרונות השימוש באור טבעי באמצעות החלל הפנימי לניצול מקסימלי של חום השמש בחורף ולמניעת קרינה ישירה

וחדירת בשמש בקיץ. הצללות עמוקות של גג המבנה והמרפסת החיצונית מגיניםעל המעטפת החיצונית בעוד שהצללות אלמנטי אלומיניום בגג, מסננות את קרינת השמש אל תוך הבניין. איוורור טבעי מתבצע באמצעות האטריום ליצירת תנועת אויר חם הנכנס לבניין דרך המעברים הציבוריים, התקררותו באמצעות מי בריכת הנוי ועלייתו למעלה אל חוץ המבנה. בבניין נעשה שימוש בחומרים מקומיים, שילובו לתוך הסביבה הירוקה, הכנסת ירק למבנה, מיחזור מי באמצעות בוצע הגג חיפוי פלדה. מקונסטרוקצית הורכב הבניין שלד באנרגיה. וחסכון גשמים פיתוח חדשני של רעפי בטון שטוחים ליצירת מבנה גג הרמוני המזכיר גבעה בטבע, פיתוח ראשוני בישראל של אדריכל חיים דותן וחברת אקרשטיין. חיפוי התקרות בוצע מלוחות עץ ומגבס. גימור מעטפת הבניין החיצונית בוצע מטיח וזכוכית. קירות מסך פנימיים מאפשרים החדרת אור טבעי

לתוך הספרייה ומבטי נוף מקסימליים אל הנוף הטבעי הפנימי.

The design philosophy is anchored in simplicity, viewing the school as a village of learning in nature. The concept is a tranquil learning environment within courtyards and gardens, where nature is the principal actor, conducive for studying, happiness and freedom. The 15,000 sqm buildings include an Elementary School, Middle School, High School, Cafeteria, Auditorium and Central Library. Built on two floors, they are simple in external appearance, integrating movement and meeting places and incorporating natural light, breezeways and maximal views.

The Library Central on campus, the library is a building for self-learning, widening of horizons, curiosity and peace. The design goal was a building with heart and soul for children and staff, expressing the beauty of nature and mankind. The structure is conceived as natural topography in the disappearing rural landscape of hills and orchards. The round hill-like form symbolizes completeness and embracement. The building’s two floors total 1,800 sqm. On the upper floor are the central library and the school administrative offices. The lower floor holds classrooms and computer labs. The heart of the building is a round, embracing courtyard which opens to the light and skies and has in its midst a goldfish pond. It is a space of inner peace and meditation for the children. Views from the library above and from the classrooms below reveal a magical internal environment.Sustainable, ecological principles are incorporated in the library, significantly decreasing ecological damage and energy consumption. Natural light illuminates the internal spaces, maximizing the winter solar radiation while preventing direct summer radiation from penetrating. Deep shades protect the structure through the roof overhang and the perimeter balcony. Natural ventilation is created through the cooling of the hot air over the water pond and its escaping through the open roof above. Assimilating the structure into green landscaping around, the use of local materials and the reuse of rainwater improves the building’s sustainability.The structural skeleton was built using steel construction. The roof is made of a new industrial technology of light concrete flat roof tiles for the creation of a homogenous round “hill” like structure. This invention by architect Haim Dotan with Akerstein Company is the first in Israel. Internal ceilings are made of wood and gypsum board while the internal library partitions are made of insulated glass curtain walls to enable maximal natural light and internal views.

פרויקט אטלנטיס הוא עיצוב אדריכלי חדשני ונועז בנוף המקומי באילת ובישראל. הפרויקט הינו שילוב של היסטורית המקום והעתיד הטכנולוגי בו אנו חיים. האתגר העיצובי משורש בחיפוש אחר נשמת המקום הקסום שבין מפרץ אילת והרי אדום להרי אילת. תהליך החיפוש כלל לימוד ההיסטוריה הטבעית של המקום באזורי מדבר נחל פארן והרי תמנע. לטבע יש נשמה ופיוטיות אין סופית. בטבע אין סגנונות אלא יופי בלתי יתואר, תוצר של פעולות גיאולוגיות, רוחות מדבריות ומי השטפונות. יש הרבה ללמוד מחוכמת הטבע ומהגיון הבריאה ואנו עדיין רחוקים מהבנתם, זאת ללא צורך בהעתקת הטבע באופן מילולי. בטבע המקומי קיימות צורות אמורפיות מלטפות,

פתחים מעוגלים בסלעי האזור הנוצרים מהרוחות, המים והשמש היוקדת. במקביל מתוכנן הפרויקט כמכונה עתידנית המשלבת את ההתקדמויות הטכנולוגיות של המאה החכם". ה"בית וטכנולוגיות המחשבים ההייטק, המכוניות, מתעשיית השראה ושואב ה-21 מעוגלים קוים שילוב תוך ובתוכם ביניהם ובחללים בבניינים ותנופה תנועה מביע הפרויקט וזורמים ובניגוד לבנית קופסאות אחסנה סטנדרטיות למגורים. תכנון פנים הבתים נתפס כחללים פתוחים הגמישים לשינויים עתידיים. מסגרות מעוגלות של פתחי הבניינים תוחמות את הנוף

המרהיב ברכות. הפרויקט כולל 24 יחידות דיור יוקרתיות בשלושה מיבננים הצופים אל מפרץ אילת והרי אדום. כל מבנן בן שלוש קומות כולל שמונה יחידות דיור המחולקות לדירות גן ודירות נוף עליונות בשטח

בן 170 מטר רבוע.ההגעה אל הדירות היא דרך גשרי תנועה מרחפים המגיעים לאזורי תצפית לנוף לפני הכניסה על עמוקות להצללות וגורמות היוקדת השמש מחום מגנות עליונות רחף מרפסות לדירות.

The Atlantis project is a daring architectural innovation for Eilat City and Israel. The project integrates the natural history of the region and the technological future we live in. The design challenge is to uncover the soul of the exquisite landscape located between the Gulf of Eilat and the Edom and Eilat Mountains. This search involved studying the desert history of Faran River and the Timna mountains. Nature has no styles, but instead an indescribable beauty—a result of geological activities, desert winds and flood water. There is a lot to study from the wisdom of nature and the logic of creation, which we are far from understanding. In the nature of this area, we find caressing amorphous forms, round openings in the rocks carved by the winds and water.The other dimension of the Atlantis design is that of a futuristic machine incorporating the technological innovations of the 21st century. It draws inspiration from the car industry, High-Tech, computers and technologies of the “Smart Home”. The project expresses movement through its dynamic structures, and the spaces between and within them. It incorporates flowing forms, breaking away from the standard residential boxes. Inner spaces are perceived as open volumes, flexible to future changes. Curved wall openings softly frame the beautiful desert and sea views.The project consists of 24 luxury residential apartments on three hillside plots of land. Each plot is comprised of three floors and has eight units which are divided into lower-level garden apartments and upper-level view apartments. One approaches the units through bridges, reaching observation spaces before entering. Upper-floor floating balconies form deep shades over the lower floors and protect them from the scorching sun while providing privacy and intimacy for the inhabitants.

הקמפוס האקדמי באשדודבשנת 2004 זכה משרד חיים דותן אדריכלים בתחרות לתכנון הקמפוס האקדמי החדש באשדוד. הפרויקט הוא אחד ויחידי אשר לא תוכנן כדוגמתו בישראל. בראש מעיני האדריכלים היתה החזרת הטבע לעיר ולילדי העתיד של מאה ה-21, עבורם תוכנן קמפוס עתידני עם מסר של אהבה, שקט נפשי, שיתוף וכבוד הדדי. תהליך התכנון נבע מחיפוש אחר שפה אדריכלית חדשה תוך יצירת צורות ארכיטקטוניות חדשות ופשוטות שישתלבו בטבע בהרמוניה ויהוו תחליף לקופסאות הבטון

והאבן המחניקות. המשחרר פארק העיר, אל בכניסה ירוק פארק מגלה באשדוד החדש האקדמי הקמפוס חזון שקט של רגועה אוירה להם המעניקה ירוקה ריאה העירוניים. הלחצים מן בו הלומדים את אנושיים. יחסים מערכות וליצירת סטודנטיאליים לחיים הבסיס שהם הטבע בחיק ולימודים ורוכבי רגל להולכי שבילים ירוקות, גבעות המשלב לשמים פתוח דשא כר הקמפוס במרכז אופניים, בריכת נוי, מגרשי ספורט ואמפיתיאטרון לשימוש הסטודנטים, הסגל האקדמי ותושבי לגן ישרות בדומה פינות בניני הפקולטות, מבנים אבסטרקטים חסרי העיר. מסביב ממוקמים סלעים שקט בחיק הטבע. באמצעות טכנולוגיות תכנון, יצור ובנייה חדשות יבנו מבנים אקולוגיים מחומרים טבעיים ומלאכותיים המשדרים רכות צורנית המתאימה לאדם, לגופו ולטבע הסובב אותו. השפה הארכיטקטונית החדשה משלבת פונטים חדשים אשר מביעים צורות טקטוניות ראשוניות. צורות אלה מתייחסות אחת לרעותה מתוך כוונה לבנות בניינים המקיימים דו-שיח

ויוצרים סביבה פיסית שקטה ללימודים ולחיי חברה בקמפוס.

בניין הפקולטה להנדסת חשמל, המכללה האקדמית באשדודהנבנה הבניין הראשון הוא להנדסה, להנדסת חשמל של המכללה האקדמית בניין הפקולטה ה21 המאה אל חדשני ארכיטקטוני מבט ומהווה בישראל מהפכני הוא המבנה בקמפוס. בהתייחסותו לטכנולוגיות הבניה, לחומרים, לצורת המבנים ולבקרת האקלים. הבניין החדש בן שמונה הקומות מכיל 7500 מטר רבוע הכוללים מעבדות, כיתות, ספרייה, קפיטריה, אודיטוריום, חלל אטריום מרכזי, חדרי מרצים, משרדי סגל, חלל כניסה ותצוגות, חללים ציבוריים ואזורי שרות טכניים. פנים הבניין נתפס כתיאטרון שבו אנשים סובבים חלל, רואים ונראים. זהו חלל דינאמי המואר באופן טבעי וסביבו ממוקמות מעבדות מחשב וכיתות לימוד, משרדים וחדרי ישיבות. חלל האטריום המרכזי סובב באמצעות גשרי תנועה היקפיים תוך יצירת תחושת בטחון והתמצאות טבעית, תאורה המבנה, כהעמדת האקולוגית הבנייה עקרונות יושמו בבניין במבנה. חוויתית ואשפה. שלד הבניין ומיחזור מים ובנייה אנרגטית לחסכון באנרגיה בידוד תרמי איוורור טבעי, הוא בטון מזוין ותקרות קשיחות ומתועשות. מעטפת הבניין נבנית באמצעות התזת בטון על גבי רשתות, טכנולוגית בנייה זולה ומהירה בישראל. גימור המעטפת מבוצע באמצעות אבן טבעית או

Academic Campus of Ashdod In June 2004 the firm of Haim Dotan Architects won the architectural competition for the design of the new Academic Campus of Ashdod. The design is unique and innovative in Israel and abroad. For the architects, the most important consideration was to bring back nature to the city and to the children of the 21st century. The new campus is designed to convey peace, respect, tranquility, and harmony within its natural surroundings. The design process stemmed from a deep search for an architectural language more sensitive to humankind and nature, using new tectonic forms which integrate harmoniously with nature in place of stifling concrete boxes.The architectural vision is that of a welcoming park situated at the entrance of the city, which conveys openness and natural beauty and provides a much needed refuge for study and socializing. The heart of the campus is a green space open to the skies incorporating hills, pedestrian and bicycle paths, a pond and sport fields. This winning design suggests an architectural language that incorporates new fonts, expressions of amorphic and abstract forms resembling a rock garden in nature. Using current technologies for design, construction and assembly, buildings can be built to relate to our bodies and our surroundings in an original urban order. These building forms relate to each other in a soft conversational way, creating new urban spaces between them and tranquil environments for intellectual pursuit and human interactions

The Electrical Engineering Building, Ashdod Academic CampusThis new building, the first to be built in the campus, is revolutionary and futuristic in Israel in terms of construction techniques, materials, forms and climatic control. It is a 7,500 square meter building with eight floors consisting of classrooms, laboratories, a library, a cafeteria, an auditorium, administration offices, a central atrium and public spaces. The inner space is conceptualized as a theater where students see and are seen by others. Surrounded by educational facilities, it is a dynamic, naturally illuminated and ventilated space, with open circulation spaces and places for informal gatherings. Sustainable, ecological principles are assimilated into the educational building which will significantly decrease ecological damage and energy consumption. They incorporate climatic positioning of the structure, solar radiation protection, natural lighting, natural ventilation, thermal insulation combined with thermal mass, recycled building materials, water conservation and waste solutions. The structural skeleton is reinforced concrete with prefabricated slab components. The building envelope is made of economical spray-on concrete. The dynamic building form envelope is cladded with rough natural or artificial stone over light steel construction, to withstanding local climatic conditions with no maintenance required. Construction costs are estimated to be $1,300 per square meter.

פואיה, גלריה, אולם מופעים בן 850 מושבים, מגדל במה, חדרי הלבשה ומשרדים.הרעיון המרכזי של הבניין הוא יצירת טבע בנוי ושקט המשתלב בפארק ירוק. רחובות של "פעם" היתה מושבה אהובה, שקטה, טבולה בירוק, אפופה בניחוח הפרדסים ובפריחתם. רחובות של היום היא עיר בישראל אשר פרדסיה הפכו לשכונות מגורים ומרכזי מסחר מוקפים ומפוצלים

בכבישים והמולה אורבנית. המתחם יהיה מנוגד לסביבה המיידית הבנויה מקופסאות מגורים סטנדרטיות. קווי הבניין הם רכים ומעוגלים, חסרי צורה מוגדרת או סימטריה. צורות הבניין מביעות דינמיות ואורגניות המתיחסות זורם, המוקף בקירות מעוגלים בדומה לטבע ולטופוגרפיה הסובבים. אולם הכניסה הוא חלל בצורות בנוי השחקנים ואגף הבמה מגדל התיאטרון, אולם את הכולל המרכזי הבניין לפרח.

In the heart of Rehovot, the dream and vision of the mayor and the design team is being materialized: to return the crown to the city. The old 20-dunam soccer field will be transformed into a green park and in its midst the new cultural hall. The 3,300-square meter concert and theater hall will consist of a foyer, a gallery, a performing hall of 850 seats, dressing rooms and offices.The design concept is that of a built quiet element of nature incorporated into a park. Old Rehovot was a beloved small town engulfed in greenery, shrouded in blooming orchard fragrance. Today’s Rehovot is a city where orchards have become residential neighborhoods and commercial centers surrounded and bisected by roads and urban noise. The cultural hall complex will stand in contrast to the immediate surroundings of typical residential boxes. The building lines are soft and curvilinear, fluid and free of symmetry and straight lines. The form of the structure expresses dynamics and nature and the topography around. The entrance foyer is a flowing space, encircled by curved walls like a flower. The central building consists of the theater hall, the stage and the actors’ wing built in an amorphic shape like a mountain in nature.Turning the neglected soccer field into a park will bring back the historical ‘founders’ garden" back to the city center. Thus, an intimate green lung will be created where the young and the old can play and rest. The new ‘founders’ park will consist of the civic square and a center for outdoor activities. It will be divided into landscaping realms such as an orange grove, a pond and intimate places, similar to Central Park in Manhattan. The concert hall will be located in the middle of the park facing east towards the city. Service roads will be located in the rear of the site. The building will be constructed of steel and concrete and will be covered with natural stone to create natural beauty, a connection to nature and minimal maintenance costs. The entrance foyer will be constructed with glass and pearl-tinted aluminum. Future expansion will include a 400 seat training hall and 2000 square meters of commercial and exhibition areas adjacent to the cultural hall.

ההצעה האדריכלית למוזיאון העתידי שואבת את השראתה משלושה עולמות: הטבע הדומם, עצי המוצל, בפארק ההליכה השקט, הציפורים, צפצוף הטכנולוגי. והעולם הישראלית הנפש האקליפטוס התמירים, הירוק, המים, החצר השקועה, הירידה לאדמה, האור הרך. כל זאת כנגד הרעש ה"אקוסטי והויזואלי" שמסביב, הרעש שבתוכנו. הבנין המוצע נתפס כמטפורה וכמציאות, בנין שקט ורך הממשיך ומאריך את פארק דובנוב שבסמוך ליצירת מקום מרגוע בעיר. הבנינים הינם טבע דומם בלב חוסר השקט של הסביבה העצבנית מסביב. שלושה "סלעים" מהווים את אגפי המוזיאון החדש ובתווך חלל מרכזי שטוף אור ושקט דמוי פרח הפונה כלפי הפארק, כלפי

The architectural proposal derives its inspiration from three realms: the quietude of nature, the Israeli spirit and the technological world. Birds singing, tall eucalyptus trees, green grass, a walk in the shaded park, the sunken court, quiet waters, soft light. All allay the acoustical and visual noise around and within ourselves. A soft and quiet building connected to Dubnov Park, enlarging it to create a green place of repose in the city. The three hill-like structures constitute the new museum wings, with a flower nested among them: a central atrium space filled with soft light and opening towards the skies.The Israeli spirit is one of opposites: Rough, tough, struggling, sun burnt outside; gentle, sensitive, with beauty on the inside. The metaphor for this duality is the rock and the flower. The rock symbolizes solidity, strength, security and a connection to the earth. The flower pushing out from between the rocks symbolizes delicacy, softness and openness to the skies and light. The technological revolution that the world is going through opens new horizons in architecture and all aspects of life. Computers and new technologies enable us to design living and working environments using geometries as well as abstract and dynamic forms and spaces. The historical “architectural box” can live beside abstract and changing architecture, which derives its inspiration from nature and art. The proposed museum will be built using new technologies of bent steel structures with exterior and interior finish materials applied to it.A museum is a place of tranquility, of inner and physical calmness. It is a cultural quietude. When we walk among the art displays this stillness facilitates excitement, anger, love—a reaction all through the experience of arrival, interaction with the place and the art, the conquest, the exit, and the reflection at home. The new building will be connected to the existing museum both physically and symbolically. It is organized around a central atrium similar to that of the existing building. Thus, visitors walking around the central space of the old building will feel a sense of familiarity while in the new atrium. However, the sculptural and dynamic character of the new atrium emphasizes the difference between the old and new-artistically, technologically and in the use of light.

The “AIDS” of Architecture (Architecture and visual noise) Six billion people are living on earth. World population will reach 15 billion people in 40 or 50 years on mother earth. We need to house these billions of souls and bodies in houses, practically store them in decent homes, in built environments of beauty and calmness. Yet, we stuff them in residential storage boxes. In every city on the globe, structures rise up from eight storey buildings to thirty and forty floor towers. Densities intensify. Our neighborhoods become walls, a continuous wall of buildings, walls which hide the horizon, block the sunlight and breeze. We create manmade horizon of boxes which can not be distinguished. All buildings blend into the wall. The wall is dominant, powerful, blocking our connection to nature and to ourselves. Walls in 50 years will stifle us. Higher we go. Wider we build. Boxes crowded together will contribute to increased anger and violence, creating concealed mental pressures in our places of living.Walls must be stopped now. It will be impossible to bring the walls down later. It will be too late. Creation of boxed buildings must be stopped, be transformed. Let the box be kept as memory, not as a necessity which will destroy humanity.Instead, buildings in high densities, must relate to each other, respect and converse with each other, welcome nature and integrate with it, let air and light come in. New technologies enable us to create new forms for living, even build sculptures of immense scale and height. Architecture can be sculptural, yet architecture can not be merely sculpture. If every building was a work of art, we would cause the human race to live in a museum of architecture. Visual noise would govern, cluttering our vision and our life. The “AIDS” of architecture. We must learn from nature’s wisdom, derive solutions and forms from nature’s endless logic. We must create peace and tranquil environments for our children, for future generations.

Serenity of NatureIn nature harmony prevails in calmness, in balance. In nature we seek quiet beauty, inner peace. The desert is where we meditate in quietude, listen to seemingly nothingness. Mountains we climb on to feel free, touch a cloud and skies, see sunsets painting the world in rays of colors and deep shadows. We accommodate nature, we accommodate to nature. Nature was here before us. It will be here long after we are gone. We do not imitate nature but learn from its wisdom.We must create quiet environments in our hectic and crowded world. We need to design calm buildings and neighborhoods, soft forms, tranquility. Not merely storage boxes of rising walls of concrete, stifling us mercilessly. Boxed towers create meaningless vertical spaces between them, static places where windows look straight at each other. Individual towers stand aloof one next to each other like soldiers in a parade. So are our man-made environments. Buildings create space among them, between them. Walls define spaces, create places for people. Hence, buildings must relate to each other, respect each other; give to nature, let air and light come in. Curved forms create continuous quiet spaces with flowing movement, like in nature. When our buildings become calmer, softer, quieter. When our buildings converse with each other, gesture in respect, project serenity, quiet beauty will prevail in our places. Therefore, a new language must be born, a language of quiet forms, new fonts of shapes which relate to each other in balance and harmony. A new language giving us tools to create architectural forms, functional and dynamic, yet simple, even basic. Forms which will relate to one another as if in quiet conversation creating places of quietude, peace of mind and soul.It is my continuous goal to develop the highest technology at the lowest construction cost. To create emotional and functional architecture, building advanced design and technology in peripheral and forgotten cities where technology is low, skilled construction workers unavailable. It is my dream to transform these seemingly lost cities into places of joy, hope and pride, with new construction education and culture for the future of our children. Thus, an advanced industrial factory in Kiriat Gat and a futuristic concert hall in Ashdod City were completed at low cost with local workers, pioneering Colleges of Engineering in Beer Sheva and Ashdod are under construction. My dream to be fulfilled.
