raging.
> The leader of the Israelites was Moses
> As long as Moses lift-up his hands toward heaven Israel was winning all
the way.
> But Moses was human as we are become tired, too tired that he could no
longer lift-up his hands; then the Amalekites turned the battle to their

Dynamics in the Battlefront(Exodus 17: 10 – 12)
He has the agenda• God has an agenda in this world – His Kingdom.• God is the Source, Originator, and Author of the mission. He operates by His Holy Spirit• The Holy Spirit brings the mind and heart of God to your life. • “mind and heart of God” is the vision/mission/agenda for your life, and for your Church. “Where there is no vision, the people cast off restraint.” Proverbs 29:18He operates through His people.• “For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him.” 2 Chronicles 16:9
• “I will raise up for myself a faithful priest, who will do according to what is in my heart and mind. I will firmly establish his house, and he will minister before my anointed one always.” 1 Samuel 2:35
• “And I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who shall feed you with knowledge and understanding” (Jeremiah. 3:15)
Amalekites = rejection of God

in attacking the Jewish

Moses = Spiritual Leadership Spiritual leadership is moving people into God’s agenda.
God never asks for volunteers when it comes to spiritual leadership. He has to choose you, call you because He sees your heart.
The spiritual leader needs to know what’s on God’s agenda through His Spirit.
A spiritual leader’s vision has to do with the quality of his relationship to God, because his vision is not what he wants to do for God, it is God revealing to him what He is about to do.
God is not looking for leaders. God is looking for servants who will let Him be the leader.
Spiritual Leadership is a calling from Christ.
It is not for the weak-hearted or the lazy. It requires great burdens for prayer, and many sacrifices to be made in order to adequately care for the sheep in your charge. As a spiritual leader you are accountable to God as a good steward of the lives given to your care by the
Lord Jesus Christ.
A spiritual leader has let God develop his character to match any assignment that God may have for him. Spiritual Leader’s goals: 1. Lead people to God’s agenda (spiritual
maturity) 2. Develop and multiple leaders 3. Glorify God by the way you lead
Aaron and Hur helper, staff, deacon, prayer partner, intercessors, prayer warriors, council members
• Prayer - vital to the sustaining energy of the leader
• Emphasis on Prayer Support in Every Life’s BattleWhen Moses held up his hands to the Lord, he revealed his dependence on God and his faith in Him.
Israel learned on life’s battlefield that strength and victory was found only in a CONTINUOUS drawing to God and faith in Him.
Many people go to war without prayer support. This is probably why there are so many casualties in the Christian faith.
• Weakening of Intercessory Prayer will Lead to Defeat.Exodus 17:11 And so it was when Moses held up his hands, that Israel prevailed and when he let down his hands, Amalek prevailed.
• One strong partner is not enough, better a Team. Everyone is called to be an intercessor. A TEAM of intercessors is needed.

Jesus challenges the church with a clear
directive for shaking and changing the
world when He gave the Great
Commission: Matthew 28: 19-20
But even before He did that, He prayed a special prayer for all
believers, which includes us today who make up His church. In the
hours before His crucifixion, He
prayed: John 17: 9-24.
