DYNAMIC TECHNOLOGICAL CHANGE

THROUGH RESEARCH

The whole world of chemistry is alert today to the imminent possibilities for the birth of new industries and for revolutions in traditional industries, based on the growing body of new knowledge in chemistry.

Nowhere is this awareness more alive than at The M. W. Kellogg Co., a company which has played a dynamic role in the spectacular growth of the petroleum and petrochemical industries* for more than 60 years . . . pioneered chemical processing for the nuclear industry** . . . last year developed the prototype for a new kind of chemical power plant, one of the first applications of the fuel cell principle to specific power and service requirements.

WIDE R A N G I N G OPPORTUNITIES OPEN TODAY FOR RESEARCH CHEMISTS A N D CHEMICAL ENGINEERS

Today Kellogg research interests reach into many fields, including cryogenics, studies of nuclear wastes, ion-membrane investigations, fuel cells, ore-reduction (iron, steel and non-ferrous metals) new concepts applicable to the petroleum, petrochemical, chemical, pulp and paper, and cement & pyroprocessing industries.

The graduating chemist and chemical engineer interested in advancing the state of chemical knowledge will find a wide range of assignments open to him in:

Basic Research Exploratory (Applied) Research Process Research & Development

New staff members are soon given an opportunity to work on a near independent basis, under the guidance of experienced scientists, many of whom are recognized authorities in their fields. All staff members enjoy contacts with other projects and staff members, for Kellogg research men work on a consulting basis with each other.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AIDED Staff members are encouraged to publish papers and take part in technical society meetings, aided by comprehensive library reference and translation services. Competent technicians relieve them of routine testing, allowing ample time for original investigations. Advancement from within the organization is preferred policy at Kellogg. The young graduate joining the RESEARCH & D E V E L O P M E N T DIVISION can look forward to a long term career that is professionally satisfying, personally rewarding.

Positions are open at Kellogg also for ChE's, ME's and CE's For assignments in process engineering & analysis, process equipment design, plant commissioning, technical service and construction.
