Rescue the Perishing Clara Barton gave her all to the dying. Just like in the song by Frances J. Crosby “Rescue the Perishing”. She laboriously tried to care for the dying. Clare Barton assisted fallen soldiers during the bloody Civil War. She was a pioneer who brought the ideas of the Red Cross to America. This all began at the time of the Civil War. During the civil war, noble President Lincoln desperately sought for help for the dying soldiers. Among the people who came was a women named Clara Barton. Speedily, she became very well known to the grateful soldiers as the angle of the battle field. Miss Barton worked herself to the point of exhaustion and required time to rejuvenate, so she left on a vacation to Europe. Arriving in Europe in 1870 she speedily discovered another war. There she soon found the Red Cross and joined them to help fallen soldiers and the injured people. She saw their ability to train and organize. She knew their skill as a group was much higher than what a couple of people could accomplish. She was impressed. She brought extremely good works of Henri Dunant to America. Many year later in 1881 the United States of America ratified the Geneva Convention and the Red Cross began in America too. Clara Barton was its first official president ever. She labored to give back to the dying that had helped our country.
