    Hattersley offer three basic types of check valves, namely Swing pattern,Wafer Twin Disk and AxialDisk pattern.When selecting check valves referenceto codes of practice and othermandatory specifications should bemade which may preclude certaintypes of valves for specific applications.

    Swing PatternValve bodies are made from highgrade ductile or cast iron and haveintegral flanges. Seat rings arethreaded and securely fixed into the body.Swing check valves having 6 diametersof straight lengths of pipe upstreamand 3 diameters downstream aresuitable for velocities of up to 3metres per second. If the valve issituated such that turbulent flowenters the valve, the recommendedvelocity should not exceed 2 metresper second.Swing check valves are suitable forwater and other liquids.For air, gas and low pressureapplications especially where bubbletight closure is required a valve withrubber faced disk is required.

    Wafer PatternA single piece cast iron body, housingtwin disks which are freely hinged ona transverse shaft.The elastomer seatis vulcanised to the body casting andis out of the fluid flow path ensuringextended seal life.

    Axial Disk PatternSpring loaded axially guided disk withelastomer seal. Positive shut-off andnon-slam with streamlined flow andlow head loss. Flanged connections.WRc approved.
