To assist Korean clients with facing the challenge of increased
global competition, Duane Morris & Selvam LLP has formed
a dedicated Korea Practice. Staffed by lawyers from our
Asian offices in Singapore, Vietnam and Myanmar, our Korea
Practice provides an integrated and centralised source for
multi-jurisdictional advice to Korean companies expanding
regionally or globally, as well as to foreign multinational
companies seeking to enter the Korean market.
The Korea Practice also has the full support of our international
platform of more than 700 attorneys in offices throughout the
United States, in Asia and in London. Additionally, our Asian
offices each maintain dedicated country “desks” for India,
China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Japan, Philippines,

• Represented Spackman Entertainment Group Limited, a Korean entertainment group, on its IPO on the Singapore Stock Exchange.
• Advised a Korean fund manager in connection with its multimillion-dollar syndicated mezzanine loan facility granted to the Australian subsidiary of a Singapore company in the hospitality and property development business.
• Acted for a major Korean music and entertainment company in an arbitration against a concert promoter in Indonesia.
• Advised a Korea-based insurance company on its US$5 million establishment of interest in a joint venture.
• Advised a large Korean client on the acquisition of a stake in a large golf course project near Hanoi, Vietnam.
• Advised a Korean developer on the establishment of a joint venture company to invest, construct and operate a high-rise residential housing project in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City.
• Represented a Korean company subject to an SEC fraud investigation resulting in a written declination letter exonerating the client.
• Counsel to a Korea-based senior executive of a Korean multinational company in a criminal antitrust investigation regarding price fixing in the DRAM chip market.
• Advised one of South Korea’s largest conglomerates on investment in Vietnam’s petrochemicals sector.
• Advised a Korean infrastructure company on a Laos hydro project for power off-take in central Vietnam by Electricity of Vietnam (EVN), Vietnam’s largest power company.
• Represented Korea Exchange Bank in connection with its sale to Lone Star Funds for US$1.3 billion.
