Step 1: Open your seatpost collar and wipe the inside clear of any dirt or de-bris.

Note: Be sure you have the correct-sized Bighorn for your seat tube. The use of 3rd party shims will void your warranty.

Step 2: Insert the Bighorn into the bike’s seat tube. Be sure that the num-bers align to directly face the rear of the seat tube. This will ensure that the internal structural enhancements func-tion properly.

Step 3: Push the Bighorn into the seat tube until the desired length is achieved.

Step 4: Close the collar clamp to final-ize the Bighorn position.

Note: Make sure that the collar is not excessively tight. If you have problems with the function of your Bighorn after installation, very slightly loosen your seatpost collar and try again. Carbon fiber bikes are especially flexible and therefore problematic.

Step 5: Pull the cable tight through the sleeve. Hold the remote side in hand to ensure that all the slack is pulled through the sleeve before instalation. Keep tension on the cable as you pro-gress.

Step 6: Insert the cable through the underside of the head on the back side. Once again, pull the cable right.

Step 7: Thread the cable through the underside of the red actuator. Be sure that the hex bolt at the tip of the actua-tor is loose enough to allow the cable to pass through.

Step 8: Pulling the cable tight through the ac-tuator hole, press the actuator down so that it makes contact with button beneath. Tighten the hex bolt to fix the position of the cable.

Note: Take special care during this step; place-ment of the actuator is critical to the operation of the Bighorn.

Step 9: Test the function of the remote to make sure that Step 8 was successful.

Note: The actuator should descend roughly 7-8mm on the tip when the remote is fully compressed.

Step 10: Ensure that the plastic cap on the remote end of the cable is fully twisted-in. The spring part should not be visible.

Step 11: Set the remote over the han-dlebars in your desired location. The remote is ambidextrous.

Step 12: Ensure that the Bighorn re-mote’s cable is clear of brakes and shift-ers.

Step 13: When the remote is in the de-sired position, tighten the hex bolt to fix it into position.

Step 14: Hold the black, interior halves of the clamp against the sides of head of the Bighorn.

Step 15: Place your bike seat onto the grooves of the interior clip pieces, still holding the clips in place.

Step 16: Use your fingers to thread the bolts through the outer section of the seat clamp for both sides. Use an allen wrench/hex key to lightly screw in the bolt if necessary. Do not tighten at this point.

Step 19: Finalize the tightening of the clamps with an allen wrench/hex key.

Step 18: Adjust the yaw of your saddle.

Step 17: Adjust the longitudinal setting of your saddle.

Step 20: Test the function of the Big-horn.

Note: It may take a forceful bounce or two to get the Bighorn working for the first time, or if it has been unused for a while.

Note: The Bighorn should descend with the rider’s body weight pressing down, and ascent without the weight present. If the function is irregular, continue to Step 21.

Step 21: Push your saddle’s yaw to a full tilt to the front to reveal the hex bolt pictured above.

Step 22: Tighten the bolt by one or two rotations. Put the saddle back into place and test the Bighorn’s action once more.

Note: You can adjust the air pressure of your Bighorn seatpost at the underside of the seatpost.

Note: Unscrew the cap by hand.

Note: You can use any hand pump with a schrader valve.

Note: DSP manufactures the Bighorn with 100 psi of nitrogen. You can use air or nitrogen in yours.

Note: The low end of the Bighorn’s operating range is 80 psi. Ths setting is useful for light-weight riders.

Note: Operation of the Bighorn below 80 psi will void your warranty and may cause the Bighorn to function improperly.

Note: The high end of the Bighorn’s operat-ing range is 120 psi. Ths setting is useful for heavy-weight riders.

Note: Operation of the Bighorn above 120 psi will void your warranty and may damage the Bighorn’s internal mechanisms.
