  • Drying under vacuum isa widely used thermalprocess in many bran-ches.

    The objective of this pro-cess is to gently dry highquality products contai-ning water or solventswithout modifying theproduct characteristics.

    During vacuum drying,the overall pressure inthe drying oven is re-duced so that water orsolvents start changingfrom the liquid to thevapor phase at low tem-peratures.

    The drying process canbe optimized by carefulcontrol of the heat andpressure.

    As a matter of principle,a vacuum drying systemconsists of a drying ovenwith heating system, avacuum pump assemblydesigned specifically forthe drying process and amatching control.

  • The patented vacuum drying oven Type VSD(VSD = Vacuum SystemDreisbach) ensure usersof optimum cleaning,offering ideal conditionsfor a GMP FDA-approvedprocess.

    The heated shelves andchamber walls merge with-out joints subdividing theinterior into individualcharging chambers. Allsur faces in the productarea are visible and opti-mally suited for use of aCIP cleaning device (CIP = Cleaning In Place).

    VSD vacuum drying ovensare preferred in the chemi-cal and pharmaceutical

    industry, process techno-logy and in the foodstuffsbranch where clean, con-tamination-free conditionsare required.

    Surfaces and walls are double-walled, all corners arerounded. Product compartment is completely view-able. Easy cleaning. High quality and corrosion-resis-tant stainless steel.

    This vacuum drying ovenis suitable for setup andoperation in explosion-hazard areas.

    All parts of the vacuumchamber coming intocontact with the productconsist of high qualitystainless steel or specialmaterial such as Hastel-loy, Inconel or Titanium.

    The sur faces are groundand polished.

    The shelves and ceilingare designed with doublewalls. Heating is accom-plished with hot water orthermal oil.

    The heated shelves andchamber walls merge without joints subdividingthe interior into individualcharging chambers.

    The front side of the vacuum drying oven isequipped with a circum-ferential mounting framefor wall installation; theframe is welded tightly tothe vacuum chamber.

    The vacuum drying oven is tested for leakage with helium or using the pressure increase method.This test is confirmed by a certificate.

    Design features of the VSD

    The door suspension is equipped with adouble joint hinge toensure that the doorseal makes propercontact without deformation of the O-ring.
