1 cup of low-fat yogurt=based spread or butter

1 cup of butter-flavored vegetable shortening

1 cup of dark brown sugar (packed) 1 cup of granulated sugar ½ cup of nonfat egg substitute 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract 4 cups of all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon of cream of tartar 2 teaspoons of baking soda 1 teaspoon of kosher salt 2 cups of chocolate chips 1 cup of walnut pieces

1. Preheat the oven to 375°F

2. In a bowl and using an electric mixer, blend the spread, shortening, brown sugar and granulated sugar on medium speed until light and fluffy.

3. Add the egg substitute and vanilla and blend until well mixed.

4. Gradually add the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt while the mixer is running.

5. Remove the bowl from the mixer.

6. Add the chocolate chips and walnuts and mix using a wooden spoon until well combined.

7. Spray two cookie sheets with non-stick spray.

8. Scoop 1-inch balls from the mix using a small ice cream scooper or spoon and arrange on the cookie sheets 2 inches apart.

9. Place in oven and bake for 10 minutes.

10. Remove the cookies from the oven.

11. Remove cookies from the sheet while still warm (to avoid sticking) and cool them on a rack of wax paper.

12. Grab a cup of milk and enjoy your cookies!
