WELCOME TO DRAWING & PAINTING I

Get ready to express, create, and enjoy art! I am eager to take you on this journey. As you can see on the attached syllabus, many projects will be explored. For you to produce your best on these projects, you need to start smart in ART every day. That means being on time, prepared, and ready to work. Please refer to the attached learning contract for details on stART smART. This is a studio class, and many of the projects require materials or equipment that are only available in the classroom. That is why it is so important to maintain good attendance. In creating your artwork, you will not only gain knowledge of art materials, tools, techniques, art history, and career possibilities, but you will also exercise your imagination and “see” things in a new way. I look forward to guiding you to success in Drawing & Painting 1, and am eager to see the wonderful and exciting things you will produce.

Colored pencils and markers (This is optional, but if you want to guarantee color selection you may want to purchase your own sets.
