Longest Bridge Spans are categorised in the following tables according to the structural type of the main span. The "Span" means the main span of a bridge  = centre to centre distance of adjacent towers, pylons, piers or supports given in metres. It does not mean the total length or overall length of multi-span bridges. If the lengths of several spans in one bridge are equal, it is mentioned in Notes column. Year means the year of completion or intended completion if known.
