They encounter fantastical creatures in parallel worlds – rebellious angels, soul-eating Spectres, child-catching Gobblers and the armoured bears. CISSIE & ADACissie & Ada is a new comedy play based on Les Dawson’s comic TV characters starring two former Coronation Street favourites Eric Potts (Diggory) and Steven Arnold (Ashley). Steve Nallon (famous for his Mrs Thatcher impersonation live and on Spitting Image) and actress Natasha Magigi join the cast to revisit the story and the culture behind the side-splitting sketches.

Bugsy Malone follows the rivalry between two half-witted street gangs and the washed up, well-intentioned, one-time boxer who steps in to take control of Fat Sam’s gang and give Dandy Dan and his boys what they’ve got coming. In this tongue-in-cheek tribute to 1920s gangsters, the message is one of romance and good, clean fun; the characters are wonderful cartoon cutouts; and the weapons of choice are ‘splurge’ whipped cream guns, flour bombs, and custard pies.

The Wyvern Theatre is proud to support the local community and is passionate about engaging with people of all ages. The building is a creative hub and has a number of organisations under the one roof including Sixth Sense Theatre for Young People, Reach Inclusive Arts and Create Studios.

Over our 2012-2013 season, the Wyvern Theatre was proud to host 30% more community productions than our 2011-2012 season. The audiences attending these locally produced productions has also increased over the last season by 12%.

We hope that through our 2013-2014 season, many more people will support the superb performances that our developed and nurtured in Swindon.

THANK YOU FOR HELPING GREAT ORMOND STREET HOSPITALSince October 2010 HQ Theatres, alongside its sister company Qdos Entertainment, has been raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital’s Theatres for Theatres Appeal. To date we have raised £431,000 for the appeal which aims to build new state-of-the-art operating theatres at the hospital, which treats very sick children from across the UK.

This money has been raised through the generosity of our audiences and the staff of the Wyvern Theatre who have taken part in various fund-raising events and activities. Unlike television or the cinema, when you watch a theatre performance it is live and happening right in front of you! Look out for special offers throughout the brochure which provide discounted tickets for families of 4 (must include 1 adult).

WHAT TO DO WHEN WE ARRIVE?If you have small children and you need a booster seat, please ask one of the front of house volunteers to point you towards the cloak-room where they are available to hire for just 50p. If you have a pushchair or buggy, please ask one of the front of house volunteers to store this in a safe location for you. Any items left are at your own risk.

WHERE TO EAT BEFORE THE SHOW? When you and your family arrive at the theatre, you will find everything you need under the one roof. You can enjoy a light bite from our Great British menu before the show; with a children’s menu and classic British dishes available, the Great British menu provides something for everyone.

THE WYVERN THEATRE TICKET OFFICE is open Monday to Saturday 10am–6pm or until the evening performances start. We are open from 90 minutes before the performance on Sundays and Bank Holidays. We accept most major credit and debit cards.

BOOKING FEES A £1.50 booking fee applies to each ticket (capped at 6 tickets) purchased from the Wyvern Theatre, Swindon, whether in person at our Ticket Office, by phone or online. A booking fee is an additional payment on top of the ticket price that is retained entirely by the Wyvern Theatre to invest in the venue, whereas the majority of the ticket price goes to the producer of the show. Friends of the Wyvern, School Bookings and Group bookings (of 10 or more) do not incur a booking fee.

ACCESSIBLE SEATING For adults who require assistance to attend the theatre, we offer one complimentary carer ticket with your booking when one of the following is presented to a member of the Ticket Office staff: a) proof of Disability Living Allowance b) proof of Attendance Allowancec) Certificate of Visual Impairment

We ask patrons with wheelchairs to note the Wheelchair spaces are designed for standard size wheelchairs – if you have a larger size wheelchair please advise when booking.

THE GIFT OF A GREAT NIGHT OUT Book yourself in one of the boxes or one of our premium seats, which are available at just £4.00 more per ticket than the top price seat.

REFUNDS AND EXCHANGES Tickets purchased will be refunded if a performance has been postponed or cancelled. Exchanges are available to move onto another performance of the same show subject to availability, with an administration cost of £2.00 per booking.

All attempts are made to ensure that the show information and prices are correct at the time that this brochure is printed but may be subject to alterations. Discounts and concessions may be withdrawn at any time at the discretion of the management.

GETTING HEREBY ROAD The Wyvern Theatre is situated in the town centre 15 minutes from the M4 (Junctions 15 or 16) and the A419 and A420. Follow the signs to the town centre and when approaching the Magic Roundabout you will pick up the signs to the Wyvern Theatre.

PARKING The multi-storey Wyvern Car Park (pay and display) is adjacent to the theatre. There is also a smaller open air car park next to the theatre.

BY TRAIN Swindon Railway Station is just a 10-minute stroll through the town centre to the Theatre which is situated at the top of town.

BY BUS/COACH Swindon Bus Station is just a short 5-minute walk through the town centre to the theatre.
