The Westwood Combi deck can be configured as either a rear discharge or mulching deck. The Vector Flow is a dedicated rear discharge deck.

Mulching is a faster way to mow your lawn

Mulching is a popular choice for people who want a fine finish on their lawn without having to collect grass clippings.

All Westwood Combi decks have mulching capability. The specially designed deck lining and blades keep grass clippings trapped within the cutting chambers.

The grass is cut time and time again, becoming ever finer and reducing it to a mulch. In fact, the clippings are so small, they are barely visible on the lawn surface. After a few days they decompose, releasing nutrients and moisture back to the grass plant.

Applying the same principles as the Combi deck, the High Grass Mulching (HGM) deck is built to be strong and tough – capable of tackling the very toughest cutting conditions. It will happily tame a paddock, scrubland or high grass area with absolute ease; completing the job of a brushcutter in a fraction of the time and with a lot less effort.

Dense weeds, nettles, brambles and thistles are forced into the path of the HGM deck. Heavy chains at the front and rear of the deck ensure that cut material does not leave the cutting chamber until fully mulched.

Power Take Off (PTO)Power to drive the grass collector and accessories is taken directly from the engine. An independent clutch allows you to use the PTO to power accessories with the cutting blades disengaged. You can sweep up leaves and debris on paths or drives and run accessories to scarify and spread salt or fertiliser.

Powered Grass Collector (PGC)Westwood pioneered the powered grass collection system. The tractor’s Power Take-Off drives rotating brushes at over 2,000 strokes per minute, to sweep the cut grass, leaves and debris into the collector; while the integral roller gives a classic striped effect. Additionally, the grass benefits from dispersal of worm casts and the accumulation of thatch is inhibited. It is acknowledged to be the best grass collection system available and proves unbeatable under any conditions.

Special features

Deck LiftUtilising a clever gearing system, the manual deck height adjustment lever is light, smooth and easy to use. Thanks to this design, adjusting cutting height is almost effortless.

Seat AdjusterEasily adjust seat position using the fingertip control lever. An angled adjuster plate moves the operator down and closer to the pedals or up and further away.

The EngineWestwood tractors are only fitted with premium-grade engines. All have a solid reputation for reliability and performance and offer a comprehensive warranty programme.

Cutting DecksThe Vector Flow cutter deck has three, razor sharp integrated blades. These finely cut the grass and direct it to the discharge chute at the rear of the deck ready for collection by the optional Powered Grass Collector. A Westwood Combi deck is a versatile cutter that lets you cut and collect, mulch or rough-cut. A High Grass Mulching deck, designed to tackle tall grass, nettles and bramble, is available for most models – see page 23.

Foot Controlled TransmissionAll Westwood tractors feature foot controlled hydrostatic drive. Hydrostatic drive delivers infinitely variable speed selection via foot pedal controls.

SafetyThe ergonomically designed driver’s seat is fitted with a sensor that cuts out the engine when the operator leaves the seat. The tractor cannot be started unless the park brake is engaged. An electromagnetic clutch that controls the drive to the cutter blades is operated at the touch of a button. In the ‘off’ position, a safety brake stops the blades within three seconds.

DashboardSpecial attention has been given to the design of the Westwood dashboard to ensure the operator has maximum visibility of the controls and indicators at all times. Regularly used controls have been grouped, making operating a Westwood intuitive and user-friendly.

S Series Garden Tractors

A stalwart of the Westwood range, the S Series is a

firm favourite with many British gardeners, famed for its

versatility and rugged construction.

Fitted with a powerful single cylinder engine, an S Series

is ideal for gardens of around one acre, producing a first-

class finish on a formal lawn.

The S150H Mini is the ideal choice for those with limited

access to their garden, narrow gateways or winding

paths to negotiate. It has more than enough power to

drive both its 76cm (30") cutter deck and an optional

255 litre Powered Grass Collector.

Like the tractor, the ‘mini’ grass collector has been

engineered to be slimline, allowing easy passage through

‘standard’ sized gateways and along paths. Now there is

a Westwood tractor for most larger gardens.

The Westwood S1500H has been designed to be both

intuitive and easy to operate. With hydrostatic foot

controlled transmission, push button cutter engagement

and ultra-light steering, operating a Westwood is easy.

The S1500H features a premium-grade, single cylinder

engine. A 92cm (36") Vector Flow rear discharge deck

provides superb cutting performance.

The Westwood T Series offers the same functionality as

the S Series but with the added refinement of a twin-

cylinder Kawasaki engine.

This extra power means that there is a wider choice of

cutting options and deck sizes available; and a larger

cutter deck means that you can mow a bigger area of

lawn, faster.

Both the T1600H and T1800H tractors are available

with a Combi deck. This deck can be configured for

cutting with collection or as a mulcher simply with the

application of a conversion plug. The T1600H can also

be fitted with a 107cm (42") rear discharge deck.

The T Series has a power take-off to drive accessories

such as the powered scarifier or broadcast spreader.

For the ultimate in ‘all terrain’ mowing, the T1600-4WD

and T25-4WD apply 4TRAC four wheel drive technology

to a rugged and durable tractor design. The result? A

garden tractor that can tackle steep inclines, traverse

grassy banks and drive through the most challenging

mud or over wet ground.

On a lawn, the 4WD Westwood excels. Due to an

advanced Dynamic Traction Control system, the tractor

senses ground conditions and compensates drive

accordingly. As you turn, the outside front wheel is

driven faster than the inner – this prevents any scuffing

of the grass – perfect for mowing a manicured lawn or to

gain traction on a muddy pathway.

Both 4WD tractors are fitted with an Electronic Slope

Alert. This safety feature warns the operator when the

tractor reaches a slope or incline too steep to be safe.

With either a high-powered petrol or high-torque

diesel engine, the larger V Series is the flagship of the

Westwood range. Fitted with a wide area 127cm (50")

Combi deck as standard, a lawn can be cut quickly and

with fewer passes. The V Series makes short work of any

garden up to five acres and provides professional cutting

capability, high-end features and durability.

Although heavier, the V Series won’t mark your lawn.

Extra-large rear wheels evenly distribute weight and

provide extra grip. When the going gets really tough,

engaging the differential lock will drive the rear wheels at

the same speed – preventing wheel spin and providing

extra traction.

The optional 390 litre Powered Grass Collector means

fewer trips to the compost heap, but when you do need

to empty cuttings, push button electric emptying makes

the task truly effortless.

The V25-50HE is fitted with a smooth-running Kawasaki

726cc petrol engine. The abundance of power is

monitored by the OPI system which allows you to match

engine revs to cutting conditions – a fantastic feature

that saves fuel.

For the ultimate in economy, the V230D tractor features

an industry favourite three-cylinder Yanmar diesel

engine. The PTO and cutter deck is driven by a newly

developed hybrid drive. This means that more of the

engine’s torque is available to the operator.

Quickly clear tall grass, stinging nettles and even

bramble with a Westwood High Grass Mulching tractor.

Fitted with either a 92cm (36") or 107cm (42") HGM deck,

the tractor is a highly versatile alternative to paying an

outside contractor or the local farmer to clear a paddock

or orchard.

The HGM deck features a heavy-duty fabricated steel

housing that is shaped to flatten tall grass and force

it into the cutting chamber. Six hardened steel blades

reduce the material to a light mulch.

The High Grass Mulching tractor is also highly effective

at mowing a formal lawn and, fitted with a Powered

Grass Collector, will even leave a striped finish.

Powered Accessories20

Powered Grass CollectorThroughout the year, your Westwood helps to keep the

garden tidy. The optional Powered Grass Collector is as

much at home in the autumn as it is collecting in spring

and summer. It offers you the fastest and most efficient

way to collect fallen leaves in the autumn tidy up.

A range of powered accessories extend the use of

your Westwood tractor. By utilising the tractor’s engine

through a power take-off, you can drive a Powered

Grass Collector, broadcast spreader or scarifier. Sweep

leaves from your lawn, remove moss or spread salt on

your driveway.

A Westwood can be used all-year-round. The optional

snowblade fitted to the front of your tractor easily clears

paths and drives of snow and ice.

TowballAn automotive type ball hitch can be fitted to the tow bar. Tow trailers and other attachments with your Westwood garden tractor.

Powered Accessories

Powered Broadcast SpreaderYou can harness the tractor’s power

to run the broadcast spreader. It holds

up to 50kg of salt, weedkiller or lawn

additive for use on drives, paths and

lawns.

Powered ScarifierLawns accumulate thatch – the mass of debris at

the roots that strangles healthy grass growth. Scarify

your lawn regularly to remove thatch and moss and

you will be repaid with thicker, healthier turf. The

scarifier is simply mounted on the tractor, reducing

what would be days of hard work with a rake to a

leisurely ride around the lawn.
