SUNSET CRUISEThis is an exciting one. A half hour long cruise on board a local dhow, a boat traditionally made by master craftsmen in wood. During this cruise you get to watch the sunset over the Tanzanian horizon. It is an absolutely breathtaking experience to watch the hue of colours spreading across the width of the sky and reflecting upon everything in view.

Please be reminded that our rules and regulations have been made in accordance with the legalities of a marriage in Zanzibar and pertain only to the island. Therefore, it is imperative that you confirm the legal requirements of marrying outside your country so that the wedding is legally recognized when you return home.

Please note that some countries request that you send the original marriage certificate to the corresponding Embassy at Dar es Salaam to be stamped and reissued again. This process can take quite a few days as it involves stamps, couriers and agents who will be in charge of this procedure for you.
Officials in Zanzibar must receive all this information at least 30 days prior to the intended date of marriage. Prior to the ceremony, the couple must meet with the officials to verify all documentation. This can be the same day as the ceremony. You must ensure that all documents are received by Zuri Zanzibar at least 35 days before the intended date of marriage. Documents must be sent by registered mail or courier in order to ensure delivery. We cannot accept any responsibility for any documents sent by other means.
Please note that the requirements and processing periods in Zanzibar are subject to change without reason or prior notification. The hotel does not accept any liability whatsoever for changes which occur. All documentation for the wedding must be received within the time frame specified and Zuri Zanzibar will not be responsible for any delays in the documentation or the consequences thereof. Civil ceremonies must be held in the morning and on weekdays only.
Civil weddings will take place in the hotel with the regional commissioner coming to perform the ceremony; however, in the event that this is not possible it will be necessary to go to the regional commissioner‘s office. Upon returning to the hotel, there will be a symbolic ceremony on the beach with a decorated canopy. In this event, the couple will have to exchange their own symbolic vows. For Anglican and Catholic weddings, a priest will come to the hotel to attend the ceremony. It is also possible to go to one of the churches in Stone Town.

The Zuri’s team of dedicated florists are able to take care of all floral compositions and arrangements for your event. In addition to typical local flowers, they can also provide various types and colours of roses, calla lilies, orchids, birds-of-paradise, etc.

Wedding cakes can be tailor-made upon request, from a wide range of choices that include rich chocolate, Zanzibar vanilla, and tropical fruits.
