The Florence Institute Trust or The Florrie as she is fondly known is Liverpool’s Grade II listed wedding venue, that combines glamorous Victorian architecture with 21st century design and community spirit. Our seven million pounds restoration has seen a full refurbishment of stunning original features, making this the beautiful setting for you and your guests to celebrate your special day.
Built in 1889 by Sir Bernard Hall in memory of his daughter Florence, was one of the first boys youth clubs in the country. For over a century the Florrie served the local community until its closure in the 1980’s were it fell into disrepair and what followed was a 23 year community campaign to save and restore The Florrie to her former glory. In 2012 she was raised again, winning many prestigious awards for the magnificent restoration including The Institute of Historic Building (IHBC) Conservation Award 2012 and more recently the prestigious Historic England Angel Award 2018 for the best Restoration of a historic building.
The Grand Hall is the ultimate setting for couples seeking astonishing elegant grandeur, incomparable in Liverpool, plus the building and it’s garden belongs to you for the whole day, with pre-wedding-day access to dress The Grand Hall prior to your wedding day.
With a licence to hold civil weddings and civil partnership ceremonies your whole day can be planned around the one venue, granting you and your guests an incredible day to remember, with the option of an extended bar licence to celebrate into the early hours.
Your wedding will be part of our ongoing story and future history, documented with a commemorative plaque of your wedding day on our Heritage Wall, adding to a more personal celebration for you and your loved ones and becoming part of the Florrie’s wonderful heritage

Our specialist wedding coordinator will get to know a little about you and talk through your wedding day ideas in order to offer guidance and best options. After all, it is all about creating exactly what you envisage.
Dissimilar to other wedding venues we steer clear of varying packages and contrasting prices, with full transparency and no hidden charges. Furthermore, The Florrie belongs to you and you only for your day.

You can’t fail to be impressed when entering The Grand Hall, with it’s exposed beams, high ceiling and stunning bay windows, providing rays of natural light to shine on your day.
Depending on your numbers and requirements, we have additional rooms available for exclusive Florrie use, to prepare your make-up or post ceremony drinks reception parties.

The Florrie Victorian Gymnasiums light and original design partnered with its high glass ceiling and delicately painted walls truly makes for a stunning wedding reception party to welcome and wow your guests.
Upon arrival, your guests will receive a warm Florrie welcome and be escorted to the Gymnasium, where you may host your welcoming drinks reception party in preparation for the main event or post ceremony celebrations.
You can expect delicious food, freshly cooked and perfectly served. Our selection of menus (available on request) has been created to cater for the varying tastes of you and your guests, including vegetarian, vegan, halal, gluten & dairy free. Plus we’re happy to discuss select options for anything particular you have in mind, with complimentary menu tasting available on request.
A selection of wines, prosecco / champagne and beer packages are available for your guests tables or pre / post ceremony drinks receptions. We also allow for corkage. Please enquire for further details.

Whether you prefer a live band, DJ or something entirely different, The Florrie is fully equipped for all your live entertainment needs. The Grand Hall has a fully integrated PA system and speakers, stage and green room for artists to prepare. Plus our lighting system can be color matched to create the ideal setting & mood for your wedding theme, creating the ideal party atmosphere. You may already have your entertainment in mind, or if you need any ideas our events team will help find the ideal artists to get you and your guests on the dance floor.
