Revolution is raging….)
Spain was afriad US and Britain would join forces and seize their
territories in North America.
Pinckney’s Treaty granted US could use and navigate the Mississippi River which as
Spain’s possession and we could do business in the Spain port
city of New Orleans…

American settlers were flooding over the Appalachian Mtns into the Ohio River Valley that was NOT part of the US territory, it
was inhabited by Native Americas. Following a very
nasty encounter at the Battle of Fallen Timbers (natives suffered
heavy loses), Native America nations signed the Treaty of
Greenville. They would give up much of the Ohio River Valley in exchange
for $10,000 a year. Not that the federal gov’t would
honor this deal for long…..
