The Wando High School AP Academy offers students a challenging course of studies designed to foster academic excellence. A community of diverse learners with numerous interests, students of the Academy will pursue an Advanced Studies Diploma over
the course of their four years at Wando High School.
Advanced Placement classes offer the kind of in-depth instruction that high achieving students will find both challenging and rewarding. The Wando AP Academy Course of Studies offers a range of Advanced Placement classes designed to allow students
to pursue their interests and develop their talents while preparing for the rigor of college academics.
Candidates pursuing an Advanced Studies Diploma have an advantage in today’s competitive college admission environment. Elite colleges and universities expect students to enroll and succeed in the most challenging classes offered in high school.

To earn a Wando Advanced Studies Diploma conferred at graduation, candidates must meet or exceed the following criteria by
the end of their twelfth grade year:

• Complete all graduation requirements as specified by the district and state • Complete at least six AP classes with a cumulative numerical average of 85 or higher • Perform 10 hours of community service each year a student is a member of the AP Academy • Earn a cumulative grade point average of at least a 4.0 as determined by the South Carolina Weighted Grading Scale • Adhere to the AP Academy Honor Code

AP Night ………………………..……………….…………………….. February 2015 An AP Academy curriculum fair for prospective students and parents will be held on a date to be determined in February. AP teachers will be stationed along Wando’s Main Hallway to answer questions about their courses and help students with course selections for the 2015-2016 school year.
