The visions of the Universal Soil Classification System (USCS) are to
establish non-natural soil classification system and to set up practical
management strategies of anthropogenic soils.
There has been demand for standard soil classification at global scale.
One of main purposes in USCS is acceptance and integration of unique soil
classification systems from various nations. In Korea, one of most
distinguishable phenomena in soils is increase of anthropogenic soils by
adding alien soils on an initial soil surface to improve soil conditions for
agricultural or constructional purposes. Therefore, it is urgent to collect
anthropogenic soil data and classify soils into new orders.
The objectives of anthropogenic soil research (2012 ~) are
1) Investigation of micromorphology from each layer of anthropogenic
soils,
2) Investigation of changes in soil water infiltration on anthropogenic soils
and
3) Investigation of changes in soil structure from on anthropogenic soils.
