Vice-Chancellor’sInternational Scholarshipsup to A$40,000.00 value awarded to exceptional international students based on academic merit

To qualify, secure an Unconditional Offer of Admission before the following date timelines:SEMESTER ONE 2019• Round 1 - 05 October 2018• Round 2 - 07 December 2018• Round 3 - 18 January 2019SEMESTER TWO 2019• Round 1 - 29 March 2019• Round 2 - 26 April 2019• Round 3 - 14 June 2019

Top-ranked applicants will be offered a tuition fee reduction of their first year fees by A$5,000, A$10,000, A$20,000 or $40,000. Conditions apply.

The scholarship is open to all commencinginternational students enrolled in an undergraduateor postgraduate coursework full degree.

AUD$40,000 capped amount payable to the scholarship recipient for one year in two equal instalments for the enrolled CRICOS registered program of study at the University of Sydney. AUD$20,000 capped amount payable to the scholarship recipient for one semester for the enrolled CRICOS registered program of study at the University of Sydney. AUD$10,000 capped amount payable to the scholarship recipient for one semester for the enrolled CRICOS registered program of study at the University of Sydney.AUD$5,000 capped amount payable to the scholarship recipient for one semester for the enrolled CRICOS registered program of study at the University of Sydney.

SELECTION CRITERIAo Selection will be based strictly on academic merit as per the University’s

admission requirements.o Only applicants with unconditional offers of admission will be considered.o Only applicants who are not citizens of Australia and New Zealand nor a

permanent resident of Australia will be considered.o Students who have already commenced or have transferred with credit

exemptions and/or advanced standing, are not eligible.o Selection committee consists of two nominees of the Executive Director,

Global Student Recruitment and Mobility and one nominee of the Deputy Registrar.

APPLICATION PROCEDURESo No separate application is required for the scholarship. o All eligible applicants with an unconditional offer by a specified cut-off

date will be considered for the scholarships.

Successful candidates…o Must not be in receipt of any other tuition scholarship or sponsorship from the

University of Sydney or the Australian Government.

o Must commence study as per the Scholarship offer – deferment to a later semester is not permitted and will result in the forfeiture of the scholarship.

o Will be required to pay for their own airfares to Sydney, tuition fees, living expenses, study materials, text books, any ancillary fees (if applicable) and Overseas Student Health Cover each year.

o Are also responsible for paying the balance of tuition fees as applicable each year.

o Are required to enroll as full-time international students and must maintain their international student status on a full-time basis throughout their enrolment at the University of Sydney.

o May not be entitled to a Leave of Absence during the duration of the Scholarship, unless it is due to extenuating circumstances which the University will consider on a case by case basis.

o Where students are found guilty of a serious misconduct or withdraws from the relevant course, the Scholarship will be terminated and the University reserves the right to be reimbursed for the funds paid to the Scholarship.

o Will be asked to promote the Program in which they are enrolled as well as represent the University of Sydney at student orientation, marketing events and corporate networking events.

The University of Sydney reserves the right to make changes to this Scholarships Program without notice and at its discretion.
