illions of people have lost their homes and family members in the fighting. &herefugees are see*ing new lives in Europe, and have traveled north through &ur*ey andother countries, in such o"erwhe #ing $ numbers that the EU finds it almost impossible

to resolve the crisis.+oth ustria and -ungary have closed their %orders &to stop people from entering,while taly and Greece are struggling to deal with boatloads of refugees from Syria and

frica. oreover, Germany itself has been forced to set a i#it on ' the number of peopleit can accommodate, and has urged other EU countries to do their part. &his has met withopposition, not only from other countries, but also from political groups within Germanywho don’t want to let the refugees in.
